The Phoenixville Film Festival was in its first year this year, but you wouldn’t know it. It was such a well organized, thoughtfully curated, welcoming, supportive experience. Feeling incredibly honored to have my screenplay “Last Night at the Mall” selected as Best Local Screenplay at the Phoenixville Film Festival. This story about four small-town high school grads on their last night together before college is near and dear to my heart, and it’s so cool to learn that it resonated enough to make an impression. I even heard that it got some laughs at the live table read. That alone would have been enough for me to go home happy. I started writing stories as a young child just trying to entertain myself and the people in my life who mattered to me, and that’s all I continue to do! Writing this one was an adventure — and winning was a huge honor. Can't stop thinking about the premiere of Millie's Care Free Day at the @phoenixvillefilmfestival Friday night! Firstly, what a job by the festival. It was incredibly run. Phoenixville was the perfect location as Bridge Street shut down to car traffic giving a perfect small town walking feel with tons of great restaurants and pubs to network at. @thecolonialtheatre was the perfect venue with pristine projection quality. The houses were packed. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It was so well organized. The #shortfilms we screened with were excellent! And all the #filmmakers we met were the best! Can't gush enough by how good the festival was. This is a must submit #filmfestival for any #filmmaker! Just wish we could've spent more of the weekend there. And it was just so amazing to see our little #shortfilm screen for the first time. Our team of incredible artists at the top of their craft put in their best work to date on Millie's Care Free Day and there is nothing more gratifying than seeing that hard work come to fruition on the big screen. So just have to say it again, thank you to the #PhoenixvilleFilmFestival for hosting us and premiering our film at your inaugural festival. It was truly a blessing and honor.
