Hi everyone! here are your challenges for January 2022! I'm still trying to figure out how I want to approach them, and this month there is one that is familiar and one that's a little different! For the lettering challenge I'm continuing the playlist theme, and as it is my birthday month I went with one of my favorite birthday party activities from childhood... Roller Rink Party! It's a pile of my favorite jams for a 70s/80s roller rink party. And yes there are some repeat songs - who WOULDN'T want a heaping helping of the Bee Gees?! You can find the playlist on Spotify! Hi everyone! We are continuing the playlist theme for the lettering challenge in September! Drama, drama, drama - bands are FULL of it, and a lot of them wrote songs during it, or entire albums about it *cough fleetwood mac cough*! This month's playlist/challenge is called Spilling The Tea, and it is full of songs related to drama, whether the songs were created during the drama (like Back In The USSR - Paul McCartney had to play drums on it because Ringo was tired of the drama between John and Paul) or about the drama (Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac is a stellar example of this), and even some drama in general (like Layla - all about Eric Clapton bogarting George Harrison's wife). I’m participating in @llamaletters’ lettering and doodling prompts in July and am loving it! I haven’t done these for over a year and I didn’t realize how much I’d missed the practice. The first week I used a Tombow Mono Drawing Pen 0.1 for my lettering and a Uni Jetstream 0.7 for the sketching. You all know I love the Jetstream, but it was SO ink blobby with the sketching 😐 — I’ll likely use the Tombow for both going forward.
