At first, I thought „Through the Fire“ will be the most difficult prompt of @ourplanetweek to work on for me, as I usually focus on the serene energy of nature and reading the prompt, devastation came to my mind. But after some research, I‘ve learned about plants and animals who actually need bush fires to stay alive. One of it is the australian grass tree, which is stimulated by fires to flower. I just let go, let my pencil do its thing ✏️🍃 Like I said yesterday, some will dig it, some won’t, and others won’t even notice. Change ain’t always about the look, it’s about what’s underneath. So, I decided to sketch without worrying if the colors would fly or not, or if the lady was too curvy or not. Just let my pencil do the talking, and, it feels good ☀️😌

When Pangolin and Turtle had climbed the highest moutain around to get a good view of the area it was already dark. It was there that Pangolin spotted a group of stars that looked a lot like it's friend Turtle. Here is my first artwork for @ourplanetweek . Prompt: Among the Stars ✨🌠🌌 I choose two of my favourite animals as protagonists for a mini picture story inspired by the prompts. I dont know if I can finish the other parts of the story in time, but I'll try my best.^^ This week is all about protecting our beautiful flora and fauna and I want to encourage people to be mindful of nature when making life desicions. I know changes from a single person cant make the damages of big corporations go away but I believe we should do the best we can anyway. The best you can do in my opinion is to be selective of the products you choose and where you put your money. I try to buy product options that have less packaging waste than others for example. Another tip to reduce was is to buy or make reusable products. I am currently sewing hankerchiefs to make less waste. This seemed an apt project to waffle about today, with it being #earthday A lot of my illustrations may appear to be from a realm other than earth, but it is the fascinating creatures and plants right here on this planet that get my imagination running wild. I began my Circus Animalia Tarot deck last year, and when I get time to work on personal projects, this is one of my favourites to come back to. Inspired by Nature’s circus. This is the packaging concept, and will also feature as the back of card design. My obsession with fungus and mini beasts began as a kid; I’d dig for beetles and centipedes and all manner of curious cretins. Then I’d watch them wriggle and scurry in absolute delight. I was given a mushroom species identification book and recall copying every page out, but on my version I’d add butterflies and snails, and perhaps a grotesque face or two. What I didn’t know then was how transient the wildlife in our woodlands could potentially be, and mostly because of ourselves being mindless and reckless. So treasure all of this magic, and protect it best you can.
