This is a #refashion. The shrug / jacket was a wrap top which was ill fitting and uncomfortable. Sat in my wardrobe for 5 years and wore only once. Realised wrap style doesn't suit my body. When I opened up the front pieces, they weren't even cut the same size. Maybe in sewing, one side stretched more than other side. Hemmed up the open ends, and sewed the side seams, all by hand and promptly wore it the whole day. It is the right kind of weather for it. Yesterday I made this simple romantic summer dress from a thrifted linen/coton dress (last pic) found times ago and remnant of fabric, thrifted table cloth and bed sheet. To refashion the original straight dress I cut the bodice and I made squares with the fabric I recuperated that I mixed with other squares of several fabrics in the same tones creating 3 patchwork ruffles. My quilted jacket made with a thrifted jacket and repurposed fabrics! (Petit clin d'oeil à @jacket.te ) I've thrifted this denim jacket (for 3€ in @oxfam.belgica !!! ) and with scraps of fabric and scraps of damaged jeans I made a quilt star to personalised it! I handsewed and handquilted the back and I used a remnant of bedsheet to create the verso of the small quilt. I made the sleeves a little bit shorter for my size. And with the piece of denim recuperated in the back I could make 2 big pockets that I sewed in the front. Now my jacket is perfect! Refashioning project: from a (very cheap) thrifted work apron to an 1940' style house dress I liked this duster apron because of the "old style" fabric and that blue!! I altered the shape to transform this no form apron in a dress. I modified the shoulders, took off the sleeves before to resewed them after having make them puff. And I added vintage lace ribbons that I handsewed and I changed and added the buttons. To be honest it reminds me the dresses that the old and so generous, so courageous and so humble farmer of my village wears when I was child. She was young during the first war and she always kept this style... with small socks and an vintage hairstyle with crimped waves. This remarkable woman never travelled out her area, never took the train, and stand all her life in her fields and cows and in 2 villages. But when her youngest son became a genius in Artificial Intelligence and left definitively Belgium to USA, she dared to take the plane to visit him, without any fear! I was a child and I'll remember her all my life with tenderness. Her wafels were so tasty!!! I'm so grateful to her for the hours I passed in her kitchen, the delicious slice of bread with marmalade, the bottles of milk she allows me to give to the cute veals... I can wear this dress without belt and with my jeans... My refashioned underwear pyjama lingerie totally made with thrifted clothes (swipe for details) and thrifted lace from @les_recoupettes . I made the top from a pink shirt in thin cotton (last pic) But as I haven't enough pink fabric to sew a panty I have to be patient until I could find a good one in a thrift store! Some days ago I found one lingerie short (very cheap, 0,50€, because it was damaged in the belt) in synthetic satin. I mended it and changed the lace. I really like the result!
