We’re bringing this workshop back! ✨✨ Please join us for a special series taught by Sandra Grinberg. Throughout the week we will work on a phrase from the quartet “Glacial Decoy” that premiered in 1979 in New York City. This phrase glides and slides from side to side. Small and large movements are very detailed and flow together in a beautiful, often unexpected way. During the class we will do a short warm up to start, then work on the phrase, building on it throughout the week. Monday March 11 - Friday March 15 5:30-6:45pm 2 N Main St, Harrisonburg We recommend that dancers sign up for the whole week to gain the most benefit and to be able to dance the entire piece, but we are also offering a drop in option for those that can’t make all of these times. $75 for the whole week, $18 to drop in. We are very excited to share the Rural Touring Dance Initiative @rural_dance 2024/25 menu! Back in July 2023, The RTDI partners announced a national open call for dance makers to apply and tour their work to rural areas. We were blown away with the standard and diversity of applications we received, and are thrilled with the seven companies who will be bringing their shows to rural audiences all over the UK. After touring with the Rural Touring Dance Initiative with @scottishdancetheatre and @lostdogdance since 2016, I have the honour to take AFTER ALL as part of RTDI @rural_dance for their autumn 2024 / spring 2025 season! I cherish the ongoing relationships over the years developed with village halls and places where dance theatre would have never had a chance to go to. I look forward to come back to some and discover new ones too. When I was a teenager, I read about 'La Barrraca' which was a spanish theatre company directed by Federico Garcia Lorca from 1931 who took theatre to the rural part of their country. Tuesday January 2- Friday January 5 6:30-8:30 Pm 2 N Main St, Harrisonburg Throughout the week we will work on a phrase from the quartet "Glacial Decoy" that premiered in 1979 in New York City. This phrase glides and slides from side to side. Small and large movements are very detailed and flow together in a beautiful, often unexpected way. During the class we will do a short warm up to start, then work on the phrase, building on it throughout the week.
