Movie Monday - This was from the very first music video I filmed about 8 yrs ago. I meticulously went through every verse in the song and many conversations with the artist to understand the look and feel. This location spoke to me because of the depth. If you have been doing this long enough you have projects that felt great going in and fail to execute some parts of the project. You should learn from those mistakes on your own dime. As one of the executive producers it was a learning experience. We realized after first round of cuts the location just didn’t feel right. This is still from a film I photographed called REDD. I used 35mm Cinema Rokinon on Black Magic Cinema Camera. I kept the light pretty simple since this location was in a music studio with red walls. When lighting, I start with the practical and build. Blasted diffused light from sound booth and a small led to fill in some shadows.
