Stanzin Tsepel is a sculptor from Rangdum Village, Zanskar, Kargil, Ladakh, who will create land art in Edition Two at @diskovalley. He believes that land art can be a powerful tool to raise awareness about the harm caused by changing ecology on fragile ecosystems like his hometown. His art reflects his passion for exploring new forms, techniques, and styles. Stanzin completed his BFA from the Institute of Music and Fine Art, Jammu, in 2020, and his MFA from Vishva Bharati University (Kala Bhawan), Shantiniketan, in 2022. He gained valuable experience through an Inter-University land art competition that took place at state, zonal, and national levels. He also participated in various exhibitions at galleries such as AIFACS, Lalit Kala in Delhi, and Kala Kendra in Jammu. Over the past seven years, Stanzin has honed his craft by exploring different techniques and mediums of sculpture such as clay, wood, metal, and stone. He relishes the freedom to explore and strives to push the boundaries of his craft.
