Cafe with views of Seongsan Ilchubong. We came here for brunch one day and ordered the seafood pasta. It was flavourful with a mix of seafood like prawns, clams, squid and even abalone. We opted for some spiciness in ours and it was just right, not too spicy. Love the ambience of this modern cafe with a wonderful view. Though I would say the coffee was pretty average and I thought the milk foam could be smoother and finer.

Seongsan Ilchulbong, also called ‘Sunrise Peak’, is an archetypal tuff cone formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions upon a shallow seabed about 5 thousand years ago. Situated on the eastern seaboard of Jeju Island, south Korea and said to resemble a gigantic ancient castle, this tuff cone is 182 meters high, has a preserved bowl-like crater and also displays diverse inner structures resulting from the sea cliff. Flew into Jeju for cherry blossoms but they were delayed by 2 weeks. No 🌸 and it was 🌧🌧🌧 all the way with very strong wind so it was abit miserable. I think Jeju is a great destination for slow outdoor exploration with lots to see. The views are all spectacular despite the crappy weather (except the fog on Hallasan so we didn't have much visibility). Can imagine myself just chilling there for a whole week. I came here just to meet the sunrise at the top of this cone. Ik wilde met de bus naar de oostkant van het eiland en dat leek heel makkelijk volgens de Koreaanse Naver app. Helaas werd ik eerst een bus uit gezet en bleek ik vervolgens in een bus te zitten die toch niet meer verder ging. Maar 3 keer is scheepsrecht en eind van de middag was ik in Seongsan-ri waar een vrolijke kip me hartelijk ontving. De naam van mijn guesthouse bleek toepasselijk te zijn want de view was inderdaad very nice! Na even vanaf het dakterras gekeken te hebben wilde ik direct de berg op...ook al schijnt t beter te zijn voor sunrise. De wandeling was heel mooi! Boven viel het uiteindelijke uitzicht me iets tegen... waarschijnlijk toch beter met sunrise ;). Even iets eten bleek een uitdaging. Veel is dicht op dinsdag, en sommige restaurants staan het niet toe dat je alleen eet 🤨.
