I made this for my husband for our 34th wedding anniversary for which the traditional gift just happens to be cotton garments. I was a week late but then I was also late for the wedding so he's used to waiting. This is the #cornellshirt from @elbe_textiles. I didn't do a toile but I did make good use of the size chart and went according to the finished garment measurements and made 2 sizes smaller than the body measurements. Essie describes this one as a “light baby pink with yellow undertones,” but IMO, it’s straight up peach 🤷🏽♀️ It’s very hard to capture as well - it photographed much lighter and more muted so I had to try and adjust the photo to match what I was seeing in real life. #madeitpatterns #tranquilitygown in size Rich Tea with an inch taken out of the torso and the hip areas (not for me/not based on my measurements). Sewn up in a cotton double gauze and organic cotton jersey for the insert, both from @emmaonesock The pattern doesn’t include any photos and has relatively minimal instructions, but I was able to follow alright (especially right after making a button-up shirt, since the neckband was attached similarly to a button placket). My work on stitching down that neckband was not great - if I’d had time, I would have finished it by hand, since there was definitely some stretching and shifting of the double gauze. Also would have used plastic KAM snaps, but had to make do with what I had given the time constraints. Anyway, here’s hoping it fits its recipient and serves the purpose it was made for! #sewgifted #overconfidentbeginner
