#GhostOfAGoodTime was created in a quarantine pod with just me and #Sad13, both isolated for months when we shot, and styled remotely. It was an interesting experience that brought me back to my earliest DIY filmmaking days, and reminded me that with today's technology, so much is possible even on a small scale. I recorded the majority of the video over HDMI in ProRes on the #sigmafp mirrorless camera with its brand new 2.0 firmware using the #AtomosNinja. While for regular ProRes on the fp I was restricted to 8-bit (and no LOG option, which meant I had to be endlessly nitpicky with lighting because there is very little wiggle room in post), I wanted to test this combo out because of the upcoming (12-bit) ProResRAW capability on the fp, which looks extremely promising. I shot a few segments on my #EVA1 because I needed its internal NDs; where I'm isolated I only have one lens for that camera, which for the whole shoot would have been impossible to manage in the mostly small rooms we had available to us. For the fp, I had a 24-70 L-mount, which at least gave me some versatility. While it was great to finally "work" with someone again after being on my own for a while now, it was also a tremendous physical challenge to play every crew role (and some on screen roles) on this project: being a jack-of-all-trades doesn't just mean on set, it also means prep and wrap, and I have a lot of sympathy for anyone shooting in isolation who's been asked to be a one man (or woman) band. With so many looks, I don't think this video would have been possible without using such a small, portable camera like the fp. Hey, there’s a new feature on my @sigmaphoto fp! I’ll admit I’m new to the world of cinegraphs, but I’m going to create a few over the next few weeks. This is an entirely in-camera cinegraph. Total in-camera tinkering time: 10 seconds. No post color work of my friend @torib202 here either. For this #fpcinemagraph I used a @thelightbridge #4 for the hair light and a #2 strength for the fill.
