What a crazy, fun and exhausting few days!! We haven’t moved in 25 years and it’s a lot!!😂 Totally worth it all and we are THRILLED to be settling in!! My favorite room is our Four Seasons room. It’s my vintage cabin room and I love all the windows and natural light. I’ve had my coffee there every morning and look out at the mountains! It’s my quiet spot and I already love it so much!! We crossed the creek, we shuffled through snow, we braved the arctic winds for the Grand Finale. Only the highest mountains were visible above the White Ocean; hundreds of thousands of humans reside in the surrounding areas and not one of them was crazy enough to hike the Dome. “The reason behind all the miles, the reward for the hours spent putting one foot in front of the other; a valiant act for a Blue Ridge Mountaineer. Sub-zero temperatures and knee-deep snow make every movement crucial, extremities were cold but my heart was warm. Upon reaching the top, I was greeted by some of the area’s oldest residents, the Evergreens! Survivors of the elements, for every pleasant day experienced they endure 10 unpleasant ones. The massive amount of rain that moved through the Asheville area yesterday had the French Broad flooding nearby parks and roads. The storms cleared, the sun emerged along with blue skies, creating a surrealistic landscape. Riverside Drive by the railroad bridge disappeared into the water along with a series of the Asheville Riverfront Parks, Carrier Park, and many of the pathways/trails that follow the river.
