Hello there friend, I thought today I would take the time to remind you that it’s okay to be easy on yourself at times. Don’t be so hard on yourself for needing a break, feeling confused, feeling lost, feeling like you haven’t accomplished enough yet. It’s okay to feel that way. I think we all feel those ways from time to time. It’s totally normal to feel those ways. ◽️ Acknowledge those feelings, but be easy on yourself because you aren’t done growing. If you had already reached all your goals and were where you wanted to be 100% I guarantee you’d still be dissatisfied because then focus would shift to something else. Finishing at the start - last fall I found some new inspiration for my night photography. I started considering all the classic views and scenes in the Smokies, and then looked at what in the night sky, if anything, lined up with it. This led me to explore some different portions of the night sky, which was both fun and freeing. In any case, this was the first view I setup with this mindset, and it just so happened that Orion rose right behind Mt LeConte from this spot. As I stood among the throng of cameras and gazes, waiting for the sunset, a sense of impatience stirred within me. It's a familiar sensation, one that often mirrors the restless pace of our lives. We are creatures of haste, seeking immediacy in God's grand design, forgetting that His works and days are not ours to command. Yet, He assures us through His word, "For I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11-13, KJV). This vista before us, painted with hope, serves as a gentle reminder from the Creator to pause, to truly see His hand at work, to know that in the orchestra of time, He conducts a symphony of hope. Let this image, retouched with the very essence of hope, stir that feeling within you. As it fills you with peace, may you be moved to share it, to spread the message of hope that glimmers on the horizon. Rachel was the cornerstone of my journey in photography, her belief in me the foundation upon which I build every shot, every moment of light and shadow. Foodie Friday - Ocoee River Distilling Tomorrow is the official GRAND OPENING of Ocoee River Distilling, and boy, have they got some great news to share! The Folk Food Truck will be permanently parked at the brewstillery location in Ducktown serving up good ole Appalachian grub as they say. What is that you ask - well, fried bologna sammich or a mater sammich, Brat pack, and a good ole' grilled cheese are just a few of the items on the main menu, along with some incredible sounding deep fried hand pies like a cottage pie with sauteed beef, rich gravy, peas, carrots, mashed potatoes, and sharp cheddar - yum! Sides include boiled peanuts, house pork rinds, and more. Hours will initially be the same as the distillery - Monday and Thursday 5pm-8pm and Friday and Saturday 4pm-8pm.
