This summer @streetartprojectsnl teamed up with @jawgem van Aller and @springarchitecten for a project on the newly built school for @yes_college_ and children’s centre Aquamarijn. Beforehand we’ve organised design sessions with the future students of the school to make sure the artwork reflects their own ideas. @jawgem came up with a design inspired by the students, the local area and the activities around the school, which fits the architecture perfectly. As a bonus this building won the audience award of the renowed architecture award “Berlagewimpel 2023” “It’s the most radiant building in The Hague and it gives the neighborhood an incredible positive boost” according to one of the voters. Mom of three here in Westport, Jessica always loved nature, art and science. After time spent as an artist and then working on projects like Hudson Yards post grad school, Jessica found her love for architecture, which she describes as the place where art meets nature. We’re working on a very exciting project to support girls’ education in Mozambique! As part of a design competition partnered with @lovekurandza we’re designing an education center that includes classrooms, a kitchen, childcare room, office, bathroom, covered backyard, and a garden. Only 11% of girls continue on to secondary schools, overwhelmed with domestic responsibility. To support womens’ education, we’re taking a holistic approach— creating a safe space to facilitate learning and growth. We’re so excited to share this with you!

We designed this kitchen in the house for a happy chef, using all the necessary appliances, fixtures and plenty of space to cook, prep and entertain. We strived to give it the views and openness it called for given its beautiful, waterfront location; and made sure to bring in its surrounding natural elements: sky, light, air, beach and water. As an environmentally-conscious company, we are cognizant of using natural, sustainable and local materials on our projects. This particular home is located on a beautiful piece of property, so we got lucky with the project site.
