I’m sure many of the timid dog owner understand 🤓 A month ago we discover a park that is pet friendly and honestly not bad but there are skateboarding area and way too many kids. Kids.. here’s the thing… we experienced few kids who bark at my dog. It’s not a joke. They “woof” .. (only god knows what’s their intention of doing that). Sometimes I let them be “kids” but not only one kid did that to my dog and I start to see that as provoking. What I did was said “yea??” And walk towards the kids who did that. And their reaction are usually the same “NO NO NO!”. Dogs are not very well accepted in this country and as dog owner we understand and we tried to keep our dog as obedient and calm as we can but people tend to provoke them because they are on leash! So what happen if leash slipped?? It will always be the dog’s fault! Always! Even if human is the one who provoked first. Us dog owners are all trying our best and I really hope that human guardian/parent will do the same. Instead of the usual recall that works on most dogs.. I had to instead say "Summer wanna go now? Mommy miss you already" or "summer!! Look whrs mommy?? Run!! "-start running towards somewhere (usually works quite well) I know... People who work training dogs probably think wth! But you had to try living with Summer. I never knew before her that a dog can have such independent mind😂 She's a very challenging dog to deal with..
