I’ve put on half a kilo 🙌!!!! We are so happy to see little Luna is steadily gaining weight! Our vet thought she needed to gain around 2 kilos to be at a healthy weight and she’s well on the way. She will eat anything and everything which helps!😂💪 The bald spots on her ears from ticks have also all filled in now and she’s starting to look glossy! Noodles was surrendered to us because she didn’t get along with other dogs in the house. We knew someone would snatch her up quickly and Zack and Anna were happy to oblige. They renamed her ‘Wendy’ and she attached herself to them immediately. Wendy is living the great pug life…you know, zoomies, cuddles, playing outside, belly rubs and distributing kisses. Hi, my name is TUCKER and I'm ready to be your best friend! I'm your typical sweet fun-loving beagle. I don't remember much about my previous life other than that I was rescued from a Virginia shelter. A little bit about me.....I'm a good boy! I love everyone big and small, including other friendly dogs. At night, I politely sleep on my large comfy dog bed that is only a few feet away from my foster hoomans. Every morning, I greet my fosters with excited sneeze fits and a flurry of tail wags. My fosters have commented on how good and gentle I am with their resident dogs and how I haven't had any "accidents" indoors. I love going out for a walk , riding in a car, playing fetch, and playing with my stuffed toys. During my walks, you can always find me with my nose pressed against the grass or greeting the people (and dogs) on our path. In the evening, I'm happy to curl up on the couch while the big people watch TV. Although I love my foster hoomans, I'm eager to find a home of my own. Ideally, I'd love a family who can give me lots of attention and affection. I hope you'll take me for brisk walks and play fetch with me for a few minutes every day. 🚨ADOPTABLE PUP🚨 Marigold is a 1.5 year old 12 pound sweetie. She came from a hoarding case and was the last to find rescue because she was shy. Now it’s Marigold’s time to shine! She definitely loves other dogs and seems to want to play with them and be with them always. She is very curious about her foster parents and follows them, but interactions have had to be on her terms as she is still quite scared. She is a very happy girl who bounces happily around the yard and loves toys so very much. There is barely any space left in her crate after she fills it up with toys for her afternoon naps. Daffodil is one very special girl - and not just because of the fabulous hugs and kisses she gives us all! Daffodil has this very serene presence about her - it's very calming and you just love to be around her. She is gentle and loving and adores being right next to you. Daffodil is the exact same way with other dogs - she can read the room (or Garden!) better than most of our dogs. With our older Gunter, she is calm but also draws him out a bit and she is one of the very, very few dogs he enjoys being with! With our younger, more energetic hounds - she leaves them in the dust! She is like a whirlwind and her paws are more up in the air than on the ground! She is a joy to watch! Daffodil is the perfect size at 39 pounds and she is two-years-old! She is a Shelter favorite and we are trying our best to find her a home where she can live her best life! We avoided it for 3 years, but poor Archie has potentially torn his other cruciate ligament in his back right leg. 😰 He had been lightly limping on his leg late last week. After a weekend of rest to see if it was just a sore muscle, I booked him into the vet yesterday for an appointment this afternoon. But last night on our evening walk, the ligament must have finally given out and he came home with a really bad limp. This afternoon he went in for x-rays with Dr Belinda from @rousehillfamilyvets, and from all her initial tests and x-ray observations she does indeed think it is the cruciate that is torn. His x-rays are off to the specialists for 100% confirmation, then it's time to pick a surgery date. Please bare in mind I may be a little late responding to emails and messages this week. Most of my social media posts are scheduled in advanced, so if it seems as if I am active online it may not be the case in real life. I really wanted to open up my @tails_of_the_world photo session bookings this evening too, but I will delay this for a week at least. I still need to put the finishing touches on the booking page. I appreciate your patience in advanced! ❤

We have a new rescue dog in the house, and his name is Toast! He’s been with us as our newest foster for about a week, and this is the first picture we’ve been able to get of him with Elsie (Gus is still not sold on this dude’s exuberance). The integration is slow and ongoing because Elsie and Gus hate fun, which is what Toast is all about! 😂 Toast joined us from Maui Humane Society and is totally deaf, but the coolest thing about him is that he doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with him. He thinks he’s just a normal dog! We think he’s pretty dang cool and hope that someone decides to make him part of their family soon. ❤️

Another vet trip this afternoon for me, best case scenario I have arthritis in my back right leg now and worst case I may have partially or fully torn my cruciate ligament... I have been only slightly sore in my back right leg since late last week. We rested it over the weekend, and last night it took a really bad turn. Luckily a vet visit was already booked, and we will see our friends at @rousehillfamilyvets at 2:30pm this afternoon. Whatever the outcome, the one who takes our pictures said she will do anything to make me feel 100% again. We just hope it's not another serious surgery! 😬

GIVE SOME LOVE TO MR LUCHO 😘💋 “My name is LUCHO and I am a 3 year old male Bull Terrier weighing 26lbs. 🤠 When my rescuer found me, I was tied up with a steel cable around my neck. This left a very big gash on my neck and the vet took care of me for two whole months to help it heal! It was very painful and infected so I was so happy when I was found and taken out of that scary home. 😱 Even though I was in pain I was never aggressive. At first I was afraid of men when they were behind him. Once I was better and could leave the vet, I did a really good job with positive training for 6 months. I get scared and restless if a hooman creeps up behind me when I don’t see them. I act like this because I used to have to protect myself before I was rescued. I hope to learn that my new family will keep me safe and I won’t feel threatened anymore. 💛 I can be a little fearful at first, but I’m quite affectionate once I sniff you out! I reeeeally like prizes, affection and going on walks. Woof! I don’t like to share my food or toys with other dogs. Adopter needed 🐾 Meet Stanford! Stanford was born on January 25th and is a husky/shepherd mix who weighs around 18lbs. He’s up to date on his vaccines and has been dewormed and deflead. Here’s what his foster has to say about him: Stanford is a sweet and playful boy who is very calm and will follow you around. Stanford is great with our two cats and is mostly just curious of them. He is also super calm with kids, at one point he had three under 6 petting him at the same time and he was very patient and relaxed. He’s also been playful with the few dogs he’s interacted with! He is working on potty training and is very good on leash for a puppy! Occasionally, he’ll get scared by a car and you’ll have to carry him but mostly he just sticks to your side. He will definitely use his husky voice to express his displeasure when you leave him! But he’s improving day by day. Adopter needed 💕 Meet Pixie! Pixie was born on Feb 6th 2024 and is husky/shepherd mix (best guess) who weighs around 20lbs. She’s up to date on her vaccines and has been dewormed and deflead. Here’s what her foster has to say about her: Looking for a sweet soul who is forever looking for belly scratches, walks and naps in the sunshine? Well Pixie is your girl! She is a quiet girl who will need someone to help break her out of her shell! She’s come a long way since her arrival, but she is still unsure of unfamiliar situations and in particular adults who, in her opinion, are too excited to meet her. She adores kids, is wonderful with my 10 and 12 year olds, and is more comfortable around kids in general. She is very curious of our 17 year old formerly feral cat, but leaves him alone once they’ve sniffed each other and she realizes that he does not love her. She wants nothing more than to make friends with our 13 year old dog and she’s slowly wearing her down, and she happily chases our 8 year old dog around the yard, but is respectful when either dog doesn’t want to be bothered. She is amazing on leash for her age. She happily goes into her crate as it is her safe space. She will go 5(ish) hours before needing a bathroom break overnight. She loves her chew toys. She happily uses pee pads in the house but we have been moving to outdoor bathroom breaks only now that the weather is so nice. Adopter needed 💕 Meet Deere! Deere is a 12 week old husky shepherd mix who weighs around 21 lbs. She’s up to date on her vaccines and has been dewormed and deflead. Deere is a sweet and cheeky husky mix who will gladly accept all the love and snuggles you want to give her. She loves to be with her people, and adores my 10 and 12 year old kids. She counts down the minutes until they are home from school. She loves going for walks and hikes and is learning she doesn’t need to rush her walks. We are currently using a harness for her and it has made a huge difference. She is also very keen to “help” in the garden, and loves playing in the kiddie pool with my kids. She loves laying outside in the sun and playing with balls and other toys. She sleeps in her crate overnight and only voices her unhappiness (in dramatic husky-like fashion) if she feels like the fun shouldn’t end quite yet. She will go 5-6 hours overnight without needing a bathroom break. She is an early riser and loves to get started on all the fun each day brings. She goes to the bathroom outside and has had only one accident inside this week (and it was human error, not hers). She is very food motivated and will be easy to fully potty train in her forever home. She will happily sit in my kids’ laps on car rides. She is currently fostered with kids, adult dogs and a 16 year old formerly feral cat. She is great with everyone. She is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone.
