Happy Birthday to Rufus, Mae and their other siblings! These two are @aliverescuememphis alumni and it’s been eight years of adventures since we and Lynn took the plunge to welcome a couple of catahoulas into our families. We call Rufus a Tennessee Brown Dog but his sister is as Red Merle as they come. Another brother, Silas, is Black and Tan but they all look remarkably similar in facial expression, build and mannerism. It’s almost like someone took a ceramic mold of a dog and painted it many different colors! Adopting this guy was one of the first big leaps of faith we took together as a couple followed by cohabitation because he needed a Nanny aka Lucy. Rufus is highly intelligent, somewhat anxious because of that and loves his snacks. He is also fiercely loyal, protective of his pack and loves the ladies. DAY OF THE PODENCO brings with it a special case! 💛💛‼️‼️‼️ Many of you will remember the amazing story of Podenca Marilyn. Marilyn had been run over and left to die on the roadside. Our friends Fundación Benjamín Mehnert rescued her and though her spine was broken, her spirit and courage were not. Marilyn survived, not only that, but actually thrived and when they gave her a set of wheels to aid her mobility and give her some freedom, she put Schumacher to shame! But Marilyn waited and waited for someone to look past the disability. A whole year passed and not one single person enquired. When we learnt of this, we put an appeal out. After a few appeals we landed the most perfect home for her here in the UK after a few weeks in one of our wonderful foster homes. With that in mind, we introduce Julieta, a stunning and joyful little Podenca who suffered the same fate. A thoroughly lovely man has been caring for Juliet for quite some time now - he was her golden ticket out of a shelter environment and has been there to aid her rehabilitation, give her comfort, and a life she would have never experienced. WHY NOT ME WEDNESDAY O’Reilly is our handsome Australian Cattle Dog/Bull Terrier mix who is still hoping for someone to give him a second chance at a forever home! He is 1-2 years old, weighs 48 pounds, vaccinated and neutered. He is a smart and confused young dog who can be fearful at times, but is doing much better now. This combo makes for a dog that needs someone who is experienced with herd breeds, which are definitely smart dogs! He is here because of no fault of his own, only because he was not worked with properly, so now he will need guidance from a quiet but firm alfa. Someone that will be patient and teach him to be the great dog he can and wants to be. He needs to trust you and once he does and knows you are there to be friend and teacher you will have a strong bond. We do suggest a nice fence yard for this boy and maybe an adult home. Zuhause gesucht! Ist bei unserer Pflegestelle in 69226 Nussloch und kann dort gerne besucht werden. Lyra (genannt Bunny) von Rumänien ist eine ca. 1 Jahr alte, kastrierte Mischlingshündin mit einer Schulterhöhe von 47 cm und einem Gewicht von 17 kg. Sie ist eine sehr schüchterne Hündin, die nicht von sich aus nach Streicheleinheiten verlangt, aber auch nichts dagegen hat, wenn man sie streichelt oder auf den Arm nimmt, sie scheint es aber auch noch nicht genießen zu können. Mit andere Hunde und auch mit Katzen ist Lyra verträglich. Sie liebt es spazieren zu gehen und läuft dabei schon gut an lockerer Leine. Treppen, auch offenen, läuft sie in beide Richtungen. Lyra ist stubenrein und kann schon ohne Probleme bis zu 1,5 Std alleine bleiben, mit ihren Hundekumpels auch länger. Bei ihrer Pflegestelle wird sie mehr und mehr vertrauter mit unterschiedlichen Umweltreizen. Wenn sie es erst mal schafft ihre Unsicherheit abzulegen, wird sie eine tolle sehr bezaubernde Hündin sein. Lyra ist bereit die Welt zu entdecken. Wir suchen für sie Menschen, die sie souverän führen und ihr aus ihrer Unsicherheit helfen. Unserer rumänische Pflegestelle trainierte so viel es ihr möglich war, um die vorsichtige Hundedame mit dem Leben in einer Familie vertraut zu machen. Lyras Lieblingsmoment des Tages in Rumänien war es, wenn ihre Pflegestelle mit ihr im nahegelegenen Waldgebiet spazieren ging. Lyras Schwester Pixie ist bereits hier in Deutschland vermittelt. 🩵🩵ZUHAUSE GESUCHT🩵🩵 Sid‘s Geschichte ist wieder eine von denen bei der man schwer schlucken muss. Unsere Tierschützer erhielten einen Anruf, dass ein halbtoter Hund unter einem Blumenkasten gefunden wurde. Sie fuhren sofort los und sahen das Sid sich in einem sehr kritischen Zustand befand, da er unter dem Blumenkasten nur wenig Sauerstoff abbekam. Sie brachten ihn auf direktem Weg zur Tierklinik und seine Diagnose brachte jedem Tränen in die Augen. Dem wunderschönen, lieben ca. 2 Jahre altem Rüde wurde mit einem harten Gegenstand so hart auf den Kopf geschlagen, dass er seine komplette Sehkraft verloren hat. 😓 Anschließend lies man ihn zum Ersticken / verhungern unter dem Blumenkasten zurück. Was muss Menschen widerfahren sein, dass sie so grausam sein können ? Wir werden es nie verstehen. Zusätzlich hatte Sid einen Schlangenbiss, inwieweit dieser zu der Quälerei gehört ist nicht bekannt. Sid kann zwar nichts mehr sehen, aber er ist ein unglaublich bemerkenswerter Hund. Er vertraut und liebt jeden auf Anhieb und sein ganzer Körper bebt vor Freude wenn man ihn nur anspricht oder ihm etwas Zeit schenkt. Er ist Lebensfreude pur und der absolute Liebling in der Tötungsstation. Sid hatte keinen schönen Start ins Leben, aber er versucht das beste aus seiner Situation zu machen und erkundigt mutig seine neue „dunkle“ Welt. 🐕 LINO | 3 Jahre | 46 cm | ♂ | Mix | Leishmaniose positiv Auch dieser Rüde mit ganz großem Herzen sucht noch seine eigene Familie. Der junge Hundemann Lino, der sich hier auf die Suche nach seinem Für-Immer-Heim macht, wurde von unseren Tierschützern vor dem Asyl gefunden, wo er angekettet und einfach im Stich gelassen wurde. Man hat ihn dort einfach ausgesetzt und seinem Schicksal überlassen. Glücklicherweise ist er in der Sicherheit des Asyls und nicht irgendwo auf der Straße. Hier kann er erstmal ankommen, kräftig durchatmen und Energie tanken. Vor Ort hat der Hundebub alles, was er zum Überleben braucht, eine eigene Familie können die Pfleger vor Ort nur leider nicht ersetzen. Es leben einfach zu viele Hunde im Shelter, um allen die Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken, die sie verdienen. Gerade Lino liebt diese nämlich sehr und sucht aktiv nach der Nähe seiner Bezugsperson/en. Lino ist sehr zutraulich und gleichzeitig lieb und aufgeschlossen. Aus diesem Grund vermuten die Pfleger auch, dass er evtl mal ein Zuhause gehabt hat, mit Sicherheit kann man das natürlich nicht sagen. Mit anderen Hunden versteht er sich und hätte in seiner neuen Familie sicherlich nichts gegen einen souveränen Hundekumpel, Voraussetzung ist dies aber nicht. Anfangs muss Linos zukünftige Familie aber noch geduldig mit ihm sein, denn er hat noch keine Ahnung wie so ein Familienalltag wirklich “unter einem Dach” funktioniert und muss das Hunde-1×1 und alles was dazu gehört noch lernen. Liebes Hundeherz Russland-Team, liebe Unterstützer, Vereinskameraden und Adoptanten♥️ Heute am 1. Mai feiern wir gemeinsam den 5. Geburtstag von Hundeherz Russland e.V. und gehen damit ins 6. Vereinsjahr - ein Meilenstein, auf den wir alle stolz sein können. In den vergangenen Jahren haben wir gemeinsam so viel erreicht, so viele Hunde gerettet, vermittelt und ein neues Leben geschenkt. Ohne eure Unterstützung, euer Engagement und euer Herzblut wäre all das nicht möglich gewesen. Dafür möchten wir von ganzem Herzen Danke sagen. Allen voran Aleksey - er leistet dort jeden Tag Unglaubliches, kümmert sich liebevoll um die Tiere, kämpft gegen Staupe, Naturkatastrophen und alle Widrigkeiten, die das Leben in Russland mit sich bringt. Ihm gebührt unser größter Respekt und Dankbarkeit, denn er ist ein Held, der jeden Tag sein Bestes gibt, um den Tieren vor Ort zu helfen. Das Tierheim ist mittlerweile mit über 180 Tieren so stark überfüllt, sodass sogar Hunde vor den Toren oder weiter auf der Straße leben müssen, bis sie ein neues Zuhause finden. Aber auch hier verteilt Aleksey Futter sowie so manche Streicheleinheit und macht Fotos, um den Hunden doch noch eine Chance auf ein besseres Leben zu bieten. Das vergangene Jahr war wieder einmal geprägt von großen Herausforderungen wie der schweren politischen Lage, medizinischen Versorgungsengpässen, Naturkatastrophen und vielem mehr. Doch wir alle haben zusammengehalten, uns unterstützt und sind stärker daraus hervorgegangen. Trotz allem konnten wir Hunde retten, vermitteln, Kastrationen durchführen, viele Not-OPs machen und die Tiere dennoch fürsorglich betreuen, was uns eine große Freude bereitet hat. Unser Verein in Zahlen spricht für sich: Jedes Jahr konnten wir eine Vielzahl an Hunden vermitteln, sie aus schlimmen Bedingungen befreien, von der Straße holen und in ein liebevolles Zuhause bringen. Das ist unser gemeinsamer Erfolg, auf den wir alle stolz sein können. Wir möchten erwähnen, dass wir mittlerweile über einen speziell ausgestatteten Transporter🚐 verfügen, der alle erforderlichen Genehmigungen für den sicheren und tiergerechten Transport von Hunden und Katzen aus aller Welt nach Deutschland besitzt. ⬇️⬇️

Meet Roonie! 💖 He is a German Shepherd mix who came in as a stray on 4/15/2024 and is not yet neutered. He is thought to be just a baby 👶 at 10 months old! He is listed as 36-75 lbs with a cute tan coat with black markings in all the right places! The Dog Walkers are finding him to be shy and I’d guess he’s trying to figure out where he is and why. 🤷♂️ He is sensitive/scared of loud 💥 noises in the shelter and out on the street. But who isn’t? He is easy to get a collar on and walk with a leash! 🦮 He is a velcro boy, staying right beside you and even hides between your legs when he’s needing a safe place. But he is also well behaved and has a gentle vibe! 😎 He loves to be petted and adored and will climb into your lap and into your soul! I LOVE these two! Uno (left) and Utah originally came to @chitownrescuephx a few years ago, brought in with quite a few other dogs, from a hoarding situation. Both dogs have made a lot of progress with their people socialization (but will still bite your ankles when they first meet you, lol). Uno is playful and goofy, and just now allowing me to pick him up/struggle snuggle him (lol). Utah loves socializing with the pack and LOVES belly rubs from those he knows and trusts.
