Day 2 | Up early and to the Dining Hall where a hearty breakfast awaited. Cereals, fruit, toast, eggs & o.g. hash, plus a range of juices, hot drinks, and condiments. In that room a bunch of tomorrow's Olympians spread around the tables, forming new friendships and reuniting with old ones. Rugby connex ❤️ Team meetings followed in respective dorms before full squad run on the main field. Such an impressive sight to see when all of our kids are on the paddock together. Wrapped up with a cheeky team photo a swim and showers. With time up our sleeves, it was off to the city specifically to the All black Experience tour. Kids had a great time, facing the interactive haka being a favourite and finding Coach Rico's name on the Wall of Fame😜 Highly recommended for all! 🖤 But the highlight of the day was definately Cultural Night😊 From Hawai'i 🤙🏽to Japan, 🇯🇵 Australia, 🇭🇲 across the Pacific 🇼🇸 🇹🇴 🇫🇯 to the west coast of the USA, 🇺🇸 #SummertimeintheLBC and right back to Aotearoa ❤️🤍🖤 the performances were passionate, entertaining & full of pride! ✊🏽 The stage provided a platform to integrate, accentuate and empower players further validating that culture & heritage is not something you can remove or isolate. It is a beautiful super power that when fostered can be the X-Factor to a team's success! Well done to our kids for allowing yourselves to be vulnerable, learn a song in a foreign language and performing with such bravery! Sad news! The music world has unfortunately lost another OG. According to reports, yesterday (Nov. 7) #DoveShack member #ArnezBlount, who was professionally known as #CKnight, was taken off life support. C-Knight was initially hospitalized a few weeks ago on October 18 due to complications from diabetes. The rapper’s family revealed that he suffered a stroke during his dialysis treatment and went into cardiac arrest. C-Knight was resuscitated by doctors and placed on life support. However, reports said he remained unresponsive with no signs of improvement. C-Knight, who was 52 at the time of his passing, founded Dove Shack in 1994 and, in addition to himself, the 3-men group also consisted of Bo-Roc and 2Scoops. When news of C-Knight’s health scare first broke, Bo-Roc released an emotional statement on Instagram and said, “I’m literally begging all who see’s this post to pray for my brother from another mother and one of my closest friends in the world Arnez a.k.a C Knight from the Dove Shack.
