This is my first time shooting super 16mm film and it definitely won’t be my last! I’d have to say it’s a lot more pressure to shoot on film because of the limitations and cost but the images that comes out of it is just so raw and beautiful that it’s totally worth it. It’s also completely a different way of working. To gauge the exposure for digital I mostly do it by eye on the monitor, but for film you have to use a light meter and get a certain number of stop for each area, forcing you to be more intentional with lighting. I går var villaen fyldt med gæster, der var kommet til filmvisning på Olivia, First Night og webserien Meena, med en Q&A efterfølgende. What started a test piece turned into something... When ⚡️ strikes you have to stop, live in the moment and capture it. I had a script written for this but all I knew is I wanted to shoot it on 1 roll of film and just sort of make it up as we went. We had 1 afternoon to shoot and strangely enough I did the edit 1 day. In filmmaking and in life, usually things don’t come together that quick, but sometimes the universe gives you a little gift✨ A nudge that says, keep doing what you are doing and make the stuff you want to make.
