Yesterday was a historic day, we competed at Bethel high school’s drumline competition and won first place! 🙌🏾 This one was special for me because my family was able to attend and see us get the win. 🙏🏾 To top that off the students were able to witness my bruhs in person, THEE Million Dollar Funk Squad 🗣️ Who put on an amazing show for all that were in attendance (CLEAN BEATS!), and had every student asking us how they could be apart of the money team. 😎 My former students were in the number as well, making me prouder with every minute. .Limpiar los platos: Los platos se tratan al final del proceso de producción con un revestimiento protector especial, diseñado para protegerlos de marcas de dedos y de baquetas. Esto ayuda a evitar la oxidación de los platillos (que resulta en un color oscuro o verdoso comúnmente visto en los platillos más viejos). Esta capa protectora aplicada por el fabricante, hace el mantenimiento muy sencillo. Las marcas ligeras, el polvo y la suciedad pueden eliminarse fácilmente con un paño suave en la dirección de las ranuras. Limpiar los platillos después de su uso puede ayudar a mantenerlos como nuevos durante mucho tiempo. Los platillos muy sucios se pueden limpiar con un pulidor de metales, pero hay que tener cuidado: cuanto más intensa sea la limpieza, mayor será la oportunidad de cambiar el sonido de los platillos. No utilices nunca productos de limpieza, medios mecánicos o una máquina pulidora. El pulido de un platillo con una máquina crea calor que puede cambiar permanentemente su sonido. En su lugar, utiliza un jabón suave y agua, o uno de los pulidores de platillo especiales fabricados para este fin, y frotar en la dirección de las líneas de circunferencia. .Consideraciones básicas: El almacenamiento y transporte correcto de los platillos puede aumentar su esperanza de vida en gran medida. Nunca inclines un platillo sobre su borde y nunca sobre superficies duras como el suelon, ya que esto puede dañar el borde, llevando a que se produzcan fisuras en el metal. Al transportarlos, debemos hacerlo en alguna bolsa de platillos o en algún tipo de caja rígida, a fin de protegerlos de golpes y/o caídas. Si lo hacemos en una bolsa, debemos procurar que exista una capa de separación (franela, tela, etc.), que eviten que los platos se apoyen entre sí. Si utilizamos algún tipo de estuche rígido, debemos asegurar las tuercas de sujeción internas, a fin de garantizar su estabilidad y separación. Federico Landaburu 155.158.5710
Sobre la afinación: .Si estás reemplazando un parche de tambor y colocando uno nuevo, primero toma un paño limpio y pasalo alrededor del borde del tambor. .Asegúrate de que no haya residuos o pernos sueltos dentro de tu tambor. . Coloca la nueva cubierta del tambor. . Coloca el aro sobre el parche y atornilla las torres para que queden apretadas con los dedos. .Empieza el ciclo de afinación (sea secuencial, numérica o cromática), con la llave, a fin de obtener el rango tonal deseado. * Altura del Hi-Hat Lo primero que hay que tener en cuenta es la altura de la tarola. Si como la mayoría tocas cross handed, es decir, el hi-hat arriba y a tu izquierda con la mano derecha, y la tarola abajo y hacia el medio con la mano izquierda, resulta imprescindible evitar que ambas baquetas interfieran la una con la otra. En tal sentido, debería haber una distancia promedio de unos 20 a 30 centímetros entre el hi-hat y el borde del tambor. Es lo que mandan los canones, y que figura por respuesta de la mayoría de colegas. Sin embargo, no te dice más que la distancia vertical entre una y otra pieza, sin tomar en cuenta tu estatura, el tamaño de tu batería, ni la altura a la cual te sientas. Verticalmente, que el aro superior del tambor se ubique entre la cadera y el ombligo, y el plato top del hihat entre el hombro y el codo... Siguiendo esta regla, verás que guardas una distancia adecuada entre ambas piezas. No sólo se te facilitarán los rim shots, los half strokes y los full strokes, sino también los ritmos bimanuales, garantizándote un adecuado matiz para cada uno de estos golpes. Asimismo, te permite pegarle al hihat en el borde con el cuello de tu baqueta, marcando negras con full strokes, aprovechando el rebote para tus corcheas interpuestas, asegurándote la sonoridad requerida por géneros como el blues y el rock.
