If you are up to try out some new dessert, Bambu will be a great option. Their menu is extensive with variety of dessert drinks, robust coffees, smoothies, mochi waffles and much more. They are also known for their Che, Vietnamese traditional homemade beverages, dessert drinks, and puddings. ‌ I was going to try the Che, but my mind changed as soon as I spotted the durian smoothie. If you haven’t have durian before, it is a fruit with the spiky shell. The flesh is milky yellow and texture like a creamy custard. However, it does have a distinct fragrance of its kind. If you like it, you will instantly fall in love. If you dislike it, you may not even want to get close to one. ‌ The durian smoothie at Bambu probability one of the best one that I have for awhile. It packed with the rich and intense durian flavor. It is like having a real durian. If you are not ready to try durian, there are many other flavor that you can choose from. ‌ I also got their bubble waffle and it is legit. It got the crisp crust and super soft and chewy inside. Whenever I’m trying cuisine that I’m not familiarize, buffet would be my number one choice if it is available. With the buffet options, you are able to sample the variety or try thing that I don’t usually order. I’m proud to say that I am now comfortable to order Indian food right from the menu. ‌ This time went to check out New India Restaurant located within Bethel Center Plaza. Bethel Center Plaza off of Bethel Rd definitely housing a great variety of international restaurants. ‌ The dishes definitely filled with bold and intense flavor. For the naan, I usually go with the garlic butter naan. But after trying their Aloo Naan, I may need to order that from now on. Accomplished two things at one visit back at Third Way Coffee House. I tried the Selina Signature, prefect drink for the spring. AND can’t leave without getting AJ’s Taco. They recently relocate right by Third Way Coffee House. ‌ The Selina Signature is the collaborate creation between Selina from @columbuscoffeeshops with the sweetest Barista Bella @iscaella from Third Way Coffee House. A latte made with house made lavender, vanilla and a hint of raw honey. Lovely combination and love the subtle lavender flavor in every sip. ‌ As we sip away, ordered some Shrimp Taco and Birria Ramen from AJ’s Taco. Flavor is always on point for the Shrimp Taco. If you having the Birria Ramen on the spot, make sure to give it a good mix from the bottom. Cause all the tender braised beef is hidden below. Long time no Tito’s 🤭 Outside from catching them during food truck season, love their approx. monthly appearance at the Olentangy River Brewing Company and same hood for the Roosevelt Coffeehouse. Lovely place to hang around with rotational food truck and super nice patio. ‌ The small bites option is what I usually order. Pick a protein, side with either Lumpia or Crab Rangoon and choice of rice. This time switched things up and trying their Thai Curry with shrimp. It is creamy, rich and have a hint of nuttiness. The grilled shrimp is tender and the veggies [mushroom, eggplant, carrots and bok choy] infused perfectly with the curry. With this curry, I can have more than a bowl of rice. ‌ If you are a Ube lover, highly recommend trying their Ube Crinkle Cookie. Slightly crisp outside and super gooey inside. I always love to venture out to places over the weekend. It make me feel accomplish and as a way to replenish from the work week. ‌ This week venture out to the west part of Columbus, into Third Way Coffee House. I always want to try Oshio as had been hearing about their sushi and sure it doesn’t disappoint. Bonus would be catching on their happy hour, which run through weekday AND Saturday too 🙌 ‌ Majority of my sushi order consist with salmon [which is my favorite]. Freshly made sushi with prefect ratio with the rice. Lovely plating is always a bonus. Since they have ramen on the menu, I have to order and try. It was decent with the broth is quite subtle. On the other hand, their Tempura Udon is up my alley. The dashi broth is umami and the udon cooked just right. As the Worthington Gateway continue to build on, businesses are lining up to be open. DiBella’s Subs is among one of them and just had their grand opening this week. This would be their third location here in Columbus 🙌 ‌ Their menu offering is quite diverse, from the sandwich size, bread type, meat and veggies option, to sides and desserts. You can order right at the counter and your sub will be made to order in the kitchen. I went for a Build Your Own 10 inch sesame roll with roast beef, turkey and capicola. Of course packed with tomato, shredded lettuce and cucumber to freshen thing up. I really like the sesame roll, which have a crusty part outside and soft inner part. Pair perfectly with the deli meat and fresh veggies 💯 ‌ DiBella’s is famous for their authentic Italian-style subs and their bread are freshly bake every day. My first time trying DiBella’s Subs and definitely won’t be last. New chapter for the Spaghetti Warehouse as they find a new home in Downtown Columbus toward end of last year. The new location is quite spacious and just right by the Columbus Commons. ‌ The bar is just right in front by the reception. As you enter to the main dining room toward the back, there is array of train booth seating. The brick wall in the dining room also filled with the classic theme décor. ‌ Their tomato sauce is always my favorite from them. It appearance in both of my SW Meatballs Parmigiana and the Chicken Parmigiana. That chucky tomato sauce is smooth and the flavored from different spices. Perfect with the meatball and the pasta, or with anything 🤭 Ended the meal with an order of Tiramisu. I like that it is not as sweet, and the cocoa powder dust go slightly too hard, which the bitterness really came through. ‌ I only been to the original location once and the trolley is definitely be missed. But I do like the vibe in this new location. Enjoyed my meal and with the view to the Columbus Common. Wherever there is ramen, I will be present sooner rather than later. Bowl Boba opened up a couple month now and finally drove out to the area to get that bowl of ramen. ‌ Along with ramen, they also offer pho, poke bowl, rice bowl and bubble tea. Decide what you want, order at the counter and grab a seat at the table. As I was waiting for my order, they are pumping out lot of to go order on the side. ‌ Their bowl of Hakata Ramen is nicely presented with each of the topping assorted neatly. The broth have the creamy looking color, however, the flavor is on the lighter side for me. The bowl of ramen is on the luke warm side and hope next time can be more piping hot. ‌ It is interesting to see their noodle offering on their menu, with both ramen and pho. The newest additional of the Crimson Cup Coffee Shop landed in Lewis Center. They opened up a couple weeks back and it’s a share space with the CME Federal Credit Union. ‌ I almost drove pass when I first looking for it. The building is bigger than I thought and didn’t look like a coffee shop. The interior is spacious and love it loaded with natural sunlight peeking through the windows. Where can I find a place that offer ramen, Korean fried chicken and bubble tea? If you have that same question, Wukong Express would be your answer 😉 ‌ They are located around the Westerville area and it is the same spot that previously once a seafood boil restaurant. Their set up didn’t change up too much and fairly spacious within. Getting a bowl of ramen is the driver for me to try this place out. ‌ I got the WuKong Ramen which consist of Chashu pork belly, marinated minced pork, fish cake, half-cooked egg, kikurage mushroom, bean sprout, green onion, seaweed, itokiri and black garlic oil in their house spicy Tonkotsu broth. ‌ I really like the chashu pork belly and marinated minced pork. Both are very flavorful and for sure can serve prefect by itself. The broth is smooth, however, the flavor can turn up a notch. I think with all the loaded topping, it dilute the flavor when everything combine. Desi Tadka just opened up a couple months back. As of now, they are the only Indian restaurant serving the Downtown Delaware area. ‌ The space is intimate and have a mix of table and bar seating. Their menu cover a wide range of traditional Indian dish with a specialty of North Indian cuisine. Flavorful meal with excellent services. ‌ Aloo Gohbi | This is a dry curry dish that I love. Cauliflower and potato cooked in curry based spices and herbs. The flavor is rich and on point. I recently circle back to the list of places that I haven’t been for awhile. It definitely just like the list of new places to explore, it never end. Little Moon café announced their latest offering egg waffle and I have to venture out for that egg waffle. ‌ They are fairly close to the OSU campus. Happy National Croissant Day 🥐 I celebrated a little bit early as @freshstartcafeandbakery had their once a year croissant celebration this past weekend. No question asked, the Almond Croissant is a must order if it is on the menu. I also got a Hickory Ham Croissant and Raspberry Cream Cruffin. ‌ My first time having a cruffin. Basically it is a combo of a croissant and a muffin. The texture is slightly denser from a croissant. But retain the nice crust and the buttery flavor. The raspberry cream filled within the cruffin. The cream have a subtle raspberry flavor and not overly sweet. ‌ I totally forget their winter special Pistachio Latte and ordered the Red Velvet Mocha. First time trying Flavor 91 Bistro and my night is fulfilled with the warm hospitality from this family-owned restaurant. ‌ This experience is hosted as part of the @yelpcbus event. The theme is about photography and perfect way to put our “Phone eat first” skills right into practice. We also get a chance to hear from the owner on how they came about since 2016. ‌ After all the photo taking, we are presented with a sampler plate that cover variety of their menu offering. My favorite would be the Ethiopian BBQ wings and The Sambusa. The Ethiopian BBQ sauce have its own unique flavor mainly with the smokiness, along with a touch of heat and sweetness. #614RestaurantWeek | My final destination ended at Fukuryu Ramen. I was draw into their special menu item, Miso Butter Udon, which is not on their regular menu. ‌ The udon is coated with their house-made miso butter sauce. Topped with the kinokoyaki [stir-fried mushrooms], masago [smelt roe] and a side of shrimp tempura. Give it a good stir and each of those ingredient are great companion. The miso butter sauce is rich and buttery, with a balance with the slight sweetness from the kinokoyaki. And the masago just add another layer of umami to the udon. ‌ Glad I picked the Matcha Soft Serve with Butter Mochi for dessert. As soon as I take a bite of the soft serve, it just refreshed my palate. Of course, you can also support your favorite restaurant as well. ‌ First pick to start my restaurant week is The Rossi Kitchen & Bar. The main section consist of both the bar along with a couple tables. There is a side section with some more seating area. ‌ 🥩 Meatball | The texture is dense, but still retain the juiciness. The touch of fresh basil definitely help to balance out the flavor from the sauce and the meatball ‌ 🍝 Pasta Rossi | This would be my favorite for the meal. The cream sauce is rich and on point. DIY candle while sipping coffee is such a perfect cozy activity to do these winter day. Thanks to @ohiocoffeeblog getting us together. It was a super girls night out and had a blast. We inbounded to Uptown Westerville last Friday night. ‌ I got the Buckeye Moa from @espressoair . Love the nuttiness combine with the mocha. They recently launched a new huskee cup and your coffee will be serve in it if you dine in. These cute cup is made from coffee husk and it is very light. ‌ After we all gathered, we slowly marched toward @blendcandleco just across the street. The shop smell incredible as soon as we step in. The space is super open and the owner nicely explain the flow. My favorite part is the scent discovery and deciding my scent combo. I had been a couple Hawaiian BBQ places here in Columbus and finally went to Ohana Island Grill. Their format is quite similar to other Hawaiian BBQ places. You would order your food at the front counter and you can seat yourself. They are the only place that offer Saimin, which is Hawaiian noodles soup. I was craving for the rice plate, so will have to try that next time. ‌ If it is your first time trying out Hawaiian BBQ, definitely recommend to get the combination plate. So that you can try different meat at once. I got the BBQ Mix Combo, which come with Teriyaki Beef, BBQ chicken and BBQ short ribs. Along with some rice and macaroni salad. Also, consider pair the meal with some Musubi. ‌ All the food is packed in a to go box. The meats are pile up and sit on top of some shredded cabbage. Both the rice and macaroni salad nicely presented in scoop shape. All the meat is well seasoned and with their slightly sweet BBQ sauce. Continue to visit places that are fairly new to the Columbus area. This week edition is tied to the cup of coffee. Thank you for helping me decide with voting in the story and Littleton’s Market would be the spot this week. ‌ It is a gourmet grocery market with a side of café. Throughout both the market and the café, you can find a wide range of products that are sourcing from local businesses. They also offer a variety of specialty food items, such as tinned fish, charcuterie items, etc. ‌ Their café menu is concise and do offer breakfast, lunch and evening menu. A couple weeks back, I spent some time to enjoy a cup of coffee at Crimson at the Easton location. Since I ventured out, decided to grab a meal in the area before heading home. Stopped by True Food Kitchen as it is just right by it. ‌ Reading along on the menu, their food offering focus on using wholesome ingredients and aim to provide a nutritious meal to the customers. There is also clear label for any diet preference. ‌ I went in right around lunch time and they are totally packed. The server/bartender is extremely busy. Serving us along with pumping out all the drinks order. ‌ Back to the food. I first got the Charred Cauliflower as appetizer. The cauliflower just slightly charred and pair well with the harissa tahini sauce. It also topped with medjool date and pistachio. For entrée, the Lasagna Bolognese is slightly different. I like the addition of mushroom and spinach that added compare to a classic lasagna. Those are well balance with the fennel chicken sausage, which the flavor is on the salty side. ‌ This is definitely a new type of restaurant that I tap into. I am super excited to try this “new” Chinese restaurant, Chuan Jiang Hao Zi, that recently opened up around the OSU area. And perfect time for another foodie meet up with @614feast ‌ Citing from @cbusadventures , the owners/chef of this restaurant is the same from Fortune Chinese restaurant, which closed a couple years back. ‌ The space is sectioned with both booth seating and some large round table for large group. I really like their hard cover menu design, with food pictured and listed with both English and Chinese. Beside the regular menu, dim sum menu and the bubble tea drink menu come on the side. ‌ Below is the list of dishes that we tried for your reference. Everything taste on point and my favorite would be the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and the Spicy Cauliflower in Dry Pot. ‌ 🍗 Cold Noodle with Shredded Chicken 🥓 Sauteed Sliced Pork in Country Style 🍆 Eggplant with Garlic Sauce 🥦 Spicy Cauliflower in Dry Pot ‌ I love everything eggplant and this one with no exception. The garlic sauce just evenly coated on each piece of the eggplant with a hint of smoky flavor from the “wok hei” 🔥 ‌ Within the Spicy Cauliflower in Dry Pot, the cauliflower cooked perfectly with a slight crunchiness remain. It also included some thinly sliced deep fried potato and pork, which pair well in the dry pot. We didn’t specify on the spicy level and it turn out to be mild - level 1 for me. Only a week into 2024 and there is already a lot of places popped up in Columbus. This only mean that the list of places to try just keep expanding 😮‍💨 ‌ Speaking of new places, Rubyne started their soft opening right at the New Year’s Day. They focus toward Korean comfort and street food, such as Duk Bokki, BiBimbap, Kimchi Fried Rice and much more. They are also one of the newest addition to the High St. Kitchen [share commercial kitchen spaces]. For now, you can order through their website. Both pick up and delivery options are available. ‌ Everything on their menu is pictured. The Curry Katsu Bowl really captivate me, especially with that fried egg on top. I end up getting that and make it a combo set [with half side and soft drink], plus the Dakochi [Korean Chicken Kebabs] 😋 ‌ The Curry Katsu Bowl is fully packed. For the katsu, you can select either pork or chicken. I got the pork and it is perfectly fried. Crispy and still retain the juiciness of the pork cutlet. Curry flavor is on point and I love the touch of green onion at the top. For the side, I got the side of Classic Gimbap and those are incredible too. It stuffed with fish cake, egg, carrot, pickled radish, spinach, and imitation crab meat. I can snack on those all day long 😌 ‌ I love skewers in general and their Dakochi [Korean Chicken Kebabs] is so good. I got the one with the apricot sauce. If you are looking for some Korean Street Food, Chung-Chun Rice Hot Dog sit right inside the Polaris Fashion Mall Food Court. The main menu cover a variety of Korean corn dog. I just realized how long I haven’t been back to Huong. The classic mom & pop Vietnamese Restaurant in Columbus. Filled with homey vibe and authentic food. ‌ I got a bowl of Bun Bo Hue with an order of Spring Rolls. Their version of Bun Bo Hue is more mild and subtle. And I can still taste the umami flavor as I sipping on the broth. Always come with variety meat such as Vietnamese pork sausage, beef brisket and my favorite pork knuckles. ‌ The pair of Spring Rolls is big. Loaded with lettuce, basil, pork and shrimp. To top this off, don’t forget to dip it into the yummy peanut sauce. ‌ Outside from the food, my favorite part is the Vietnamese-style iced phin coffee. I treated myself for a little face bar the weekend before my birthday last week in Downtown Delaware Ohio area. ‌ Before that, I stopped by @freshstartcafeandbakery to grab a bite. I usually get coffee here and so glad to try their sandwich line up. Each of them sounds unique and you can select either with bagel or biscuit. ‌ I got the Club sandwich with biscuit. Looking for the next café to hang out, Koffee Paradise should be on your list. They are located around the Reynoldsburg area. I got to know this place from @columbuscoffeeshops and saw this beautiful Ube Latte. This place is also own by the same owner that recently open Manila Hibachi, restaurant for Filipino BBQ. ‌ I really like the tropical theme and décor throughout the café. My favorite is all the plant that is hanging from the high ceiling. Super spacious and have lounge chair. ‌ Their drink menu is extensive, along with some selection of baked goods and sweets. You can also order via drive thru. Of course I got the Ube Latte. I did add in one shot of espresso and topped with whipped cream. I love the vibrant purple ube color slowly submerge. Manila Hibachi is the newest additional of Filipino restaurant, specifically focus on Filipino barbecue. They located around the Whitehall area and just had their Grand Opening this past weekend. ‌ Their menu is pretty straight forward and offer BBQ item with different proteins. You can either select from the breakfast or lunch/dinner option. The only different is you will get a fried egg for breakfast and house salad for lunch/dinner. Besides that, there is a couple appetizers and desserts option. ‌ I got the Porksilog and a side of Lumpia. Their BBQ served as skewer form and the flavor is just on point. The pork is perfectly marinated, and enhanced with the charcoal flavor from the grill. The pork is super tender and juicy. Pair well with the garlic rice, pickle cucumber and a perfect sunny-side up egg. I love their Lumpia as well. Crispy and flavorful pork fillings. Dip that into the sweet chili sauce. I’m super pump to try out Lovelys Lao Street Eats finally. Their food truck reside right behind the Blank Canvas Barbershop in Grove City. ‌ Everything on the menu sounds good and I did order more food that I can handle. I don’t mind to have some leftover for the next day. Definitely worth the drive for delicious food. ‌ Here is what I got: ‌ 🥢 Pad Thai Chicken | First, the pile of noodles just about to burst out from the to-go box. The flavor is just right, with topping of peanut, bean sprout, lime and some chili flake. I would definitely need to eat this on the spot next time. ‌ 🍗 Lao Chicken Wings | Slightly fried chicken wings and well marinated. Crispy outer part and juicy within. We had our first snow on Halloween. Every time there is snow, I just want to keep sipping on a hot bowl of soup. ‌ The HK style Borscht Soup is usually my go to and definitely my type of comfort food. It is a tomato based soup, along with loaded of hearty veggies. To make the comfy meal be a whole, can’t forget a side of bread. ‌ I paired the soup with the Julian’s Recipe Butter & Garlic Traditional Baguette. My first time trying frozen baguette and it is actually pretty convenience. The bake time is only about 10 mins and I love that it scored for easy slicing. It has a crisp crust and inside is super soft. Creaminess from the butter along with garlicy flavor. Perfect match for a bowl of soup. ‌ The Julian’s Recipe’s Baguettes are made with wholesome ingredients, like unbleached wheat flour and European butter. I think I only been to Smash Burger once and haven’t been there since then. Glad to check it out again as part of the Yelp Elite event. ‌ I went to the Smash Burger that right in OSU and they opened up a couple weeks back. It is spacious and I love all the bar seating surrounded by the window. Other than the burger and fries, they also have wings, shake and even a full bar. ‌ I got myself the Double Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger, along with the Smash Tots. The burger is loaded with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Perfect combo with the juicy patties and fluffy bun. Their Smash Tots would be any must have and they add in their own twist from the plain one. The touch of rosemary, garlic and olive oil. I can keep snacking it all day long. One storefront, Two great restaurants. Flowing around the German Village area and craving for some sushi. Hence, checked out Jony’s Sushi. They are a Pop-Up sushi concept reside within the South Village Grille. ‌ I really like the vibe within the restaurant, which is intimate and cozy. I ended up getting only sushi and would definitely coming back to try out the offering from SVG. ‌ Not a surprise, my sushi order coincidently have one common ingredient, salmon. My favorite would be the Finding Nori Roll. I had been hearing about this Maudine’s Coffee Shop at The Junto and glad to adventure out around the area. It is a cow theme café, which draw from the inspiration to honor the Ohio State’s homecoming queen in 1926 🐮 ‌ Grabbed a cup of Mocha and the Fruit Danish. The Danish is fluffy and packed with the right amount of cream cheese and topped with fruit. Paris Banh Mi had been expanding their food menu and they recently added noodles to their lineup. I haven’t been back for a while and they changed into table service as well. You can either browse the menu through scanning the QR code at the table, or ask for a paper menu. Their noodles cover pho, vermicelli noodle salad and some authentic option like Bun Bo Hue. Their appetizer option have some variety as well. ‌ I got Bun Bo Hue and pair with the Fried Fish Balls. The big bowl of Bun Bo Hue come out piping hot. Recommend to put in all the side veggies, usually bean sprout, cabbage, and basil while the soup is still hot. It help to soften the veggies and it goes so well with the broth as a whole. I always love the umami flavor from the Bun Bo Hue broth, super rich and flavorful, yet balance out with the veggies. Their version have a fair amount of meat, like the Vietnamese pork sausage and beef shank. I wish they can also include thing like beef tendon and pork knuckles. It would be prefect if the noodles can be a bit more soften. ‌ Can’t leave this place without the Artichoke tea. If you haven’t try this drink, I highly recommend. This may not be a typical coffee shop as it serve mainly via drive thru. Their little drive thru station located around the same parking lot of Meijer in Lewis Center. ‌ I love some of the naming that they have for their specialty lattes, like Teddy Bear and Butter Bear. And I ended up trying the Spotted Owl, and the flavor is mellow, vanilla and hazelnut. The flavor is bold as the coffee flavor really peeking through. And it is slightly on the sweeter side. ‌ They also offer Bragels [Bagel sandwich] and some sweet items. Happy National Pasta Day! I can flow around with pasta all day long. I am going to highlight one of the pasta dish that I had over the weekend at Rusty Bucket. It is actually my first time to Rusty Bucket and stopped by the Clintonville location. ‌ They do have a heated patio and I ended up sitting at the bar as per the host suggested. Their menu cover some variety from appetizers to entrée and dessert. I got an order of Wings with BBQ sauce and the Chicken Parmesan. ‌ The overall flavor of the Chicken Parmesan is on the stronger side and I could use a little bit more sauce on the pasta. The panko crusted chicken did maintain the crispiness and good with the tomato sauce and the cheese. I also like their Wings as well. Love to highlight one of my favorite dessert place to celebrate the National Dessert Day. It is Wali Dessert located on Bethel Road. Their menu is filled with bubble tea and cake options. The one thing that make them my favorite is their offering on HK style dessert. Along with Egg Waffle and Egg Tart, there is option of “Tong sui”. The direct translation of Tong sui would be “sugar water”, and it come in form of a sweet soup serve in a bowl. ‌ My go to would always be the Mango Sago. It originate to serve in a bowl and they have option to serve as a drink as well. Their version of Mango Sago just remind me of the flavor that I used to have when I grow up. It is my first Columbus Taco Fest. This is their Fall edition located along the Goodale Park. They usually run during the summer time, and returning with an additional one upon the popular demand. ‌ There is plenty of taco options and alcohol station. I always like to walk through and browse all my choices before deciding what to get. I really like that majority of them offer single taco, which I can try from different places. I went in around lunch time and lucky that the rush have not yet started at that time. I got total of 2 tacos from 2 places and ended with a snack. ‌ 🌮 The Flower Tacos @avorrito_street_cuisine | Roasted and seasoned cauliflower served on a bed of red slaw and topped with Avo-sauce and queso crumbles. The crunch from both the cauliflower and the red slaw give a different texture for the taco. The flavor is light, but it is just enough to be tasty. ‌ 🌮 Shrimp Taco @raphiesfishnchips | This would be my favorite. The star of the show here would be the lightly fried cajun shrimp. I really love the seasoning and pair with the pico de gallo and chipotle sauce. ‌ 🌽 Mexican Street Corn @donpolomexicanfood | This is my first time trying this snack actually. A cup of sweet corn submerged with the sauce.
