I've been shuffling and pulling cards from this deck for the last week or so since it arrived. It's the Three Black Moons Oracle by Chris Madsen @burningpaperhearts I seemed to be pulling only the darkest cards during those first few days with the deck. It is definitely macabre (Trauma, Betrayal, Anger, Hate) but today the deck opened up to me when I pulled three archetype cards which I then paired with a single card from The Witches Tarot Major Arcana deck. It felt lighter and I feel like I have a better overall understanding. The Mage works with all of the elements in combination in order to manifest. The Star draws similarity with The Tower -- destruction provides open space for new beginnings. The Crow reminds you of what was and guides you where it matters, to what is and what could be. And The Star (black border - from the Witches Tarot Major Arcana) brings a message of hope and purpose. The oracle deck has four categories of cards: Emotions, Archetypes, Rituals and Instruments and for my next reading, I pulled one card from each category to see how that read (with quotes from the guidebook): Emotions {Knowledge} "Your mind is searching for what your heart already knows; let curiosity guide you to the next step." Archetypes {The Witch} "The witch reminds you to turn inward, focus on the strength of your spirit, and lean on your beloved rituals to calm your mind." Rituals {Burn} "It is important to find release through self-care rituals: daily journaling, meditation... to keep yourself from burning out."
