Last year this day, to the hour and almost to the minute, we said goodbye to Trix. Trix was family, one of us. She was flawed (no teeth, a crooked tail, stinky farts). She grew up in a rough environment that left her scared of brooms and boots. She was cursed with ill health at an early age (malnutrition, cancer). But despite all of this... BOY COULD SHE LOVE. Stubbornly, with her whole heart and without question. She was my constant shadow. She was my joy. She was my comfort through hard times. How she left this world was a raw deal. She fought it to the end and we tried our hardest to fight with her. For a year have carried that loss with a heavy, breaking heart.
