Grief is HEAVY. I have clients who often lay in bed and cry for hours. That was me. And the world doesn’t tell us that can actually make our grief worse. Movement can get our feelings to move, too. I’m not telling you to go to the gym. I’m not even telling you to go for a walk. Those things are GREAT if you’re able. But for those of you in deep deep grief who feel like you can’t even get out of bed - Can you get to the couch? Can you get to a different room? That’s a huge start! You can even “go for a walk” around your kitchen for those of you not ready to leave the house. Baby steps. Just please hear me when I say that movement matters. Start as small as you need to and remember that we’re not comparing ourselves to the rest of the world! They’ll never understand until they live it themselves. Sadly Roscoe’s procedure on Tuesday did not provide us with the results we were looking for and we were advised that it was time for Roscoe to cross over to the rainbow bridge. Roscoe got a day where he got to spend time with the people who loved him most, steak dinners and all the toys to destroy! Thank you to his foster mom for loving him the way he deserved, to his previous foster families and thank you to the team of volunteers and veterinarians who did their very best to help Roscoe. Roscoe crossed in the arms of his foster mom who took such good care of him for the last part of his journey. Being a hospice foster is such a rewarding but sad journey and we thank all those fosters who choose to become a hospice parents. When a beloved pet dies, they go to the Rainbow Bridge. They make friends with other animals and frolic over rolling hills and peaceful, lush meadows of green. Our pets do not thirst or hunger. The old and sick are made young once more; the ill become healed and strong. They are as healthy and playful as we remember them in days gone by. Though happy and content, they still miss someone very special, someone they had to leave behind. Together, the animals chase and play, but the day comes when a pet will suddenly stop and look into the distance...bright eyes intent, eager body quivering. Suddenly recognizing you, your pet bounds quickly across the green fields and into your embrace. You celebrate in joyous reunion. You will never again separate. Happy tears and kisses are warm and plenty; your hands caress the face you missed. You look once more into the loving eyes of your pet and know you never really parted. 🐾 Freya 🐾 The post is not made litely, Our time being Freya's earthly family has come to an end, This post is hard to write and is even harder to share; our house is full of sadness but it is with heartache that I tell you all that we said were made to say goodbye to another Fur Baby last night. This girl was our big sweet, Goofy, adventurous, playful, and Fluffy puppy, Tom was able to helped her across the rainbow 🌈 bridge to be back together with her parents Jr and Daisy but also her adoptive sisters Roxie, and Sophie, and all of our other family members that she was able to love and there pets the she will know now. We were able to be there for her birth just 4 yrs ago through a very hard circumstance in our lives. Scarlet and I were able to actually help her be born it was an amazing experience that we got to experience. Freya, you were far more than just our pet, You were a friend, a child to us all, and a companion to us all even more after the loss of Roxie passed. Your passing will take time for us to heal with this being so unexpected it will take time to realize your missing from our everyday routines. Our hearts will always wear a huge Pawprint left by you and our adventurous Freya !!! We love and miss you so much already. Make sure to give Sophie and Roxie so many kisses from us!! It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a good boy, Kobe Von Snow Springs (litter A--Tristan x Anya). He lived for 10 yrs, 7.5 months. Despite suffering an eye injury many years ago which left him blind in one eye, he lived a very happy and full life. It is a glass rainbow bridge. I made the ends of the rainbow bridge smooth so that it is easy to cross the rainbow bridge. The top of the bridge is also slightly flattened to make it easier to wait at the bottom and at the top of the rainbow bridge. I made a little hollow in the middle of the arch so that it looks like my child's ears from some angles. When the bridge is turned over, the indentation looks like an angel's ring. The shape and color of the sculpture were created with great care. We would be happy if you could display it in front of your precious child. (Of course, we will display it in Senkichi, too...) This is a completely original rainbow bridge that cannot be found anywhere else. We are planning to produce three different colors. It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Violet Dorothy Day (11). Her passing came suddenly the morning of April 29th, 2024, likely a blood clot. She was born in New York City at the New York Humane Society in 2013. She was a piebald cape and mantle American-Shorthair. In July 2013, she and her sister were adopted by Chap James Day. Violet was an affection cat who knew no strangers. She adopted attention and cuddles, so long as you avoided her tummy, or until she had enough. She was very verbal and philosophical. Her favorite pastimes were napping, eating, and hunting the red dot. She caught it twice. She is survived by her papa Chap, her sister Isobel, her grandparents Barb and Jerry, immediate aunt Shauna, and countless other aunts and uncles who visited her and cuddled with her. She demonstrated the ability of a cat to love a human and brought insurmountable joy to her papa. She will be missed deeply by all whom she touched. And her memory will be a blessing. Letter from the rainbow bridge It’s me. I know you’re finding it difficult to deal without me, but I’m still around. Remember when my collar fell from the hook yesterday? That was me. I was hoping you would go for a walk outside or something, but you didn’t. I miss seeing you smile. You used to have such a bright one, but it hasn’t shown lately. Please smile again. Yesterday I saw that you packed up all my toys and placed them in a box; that’s okay. I have plenty of toys up here to play with now. I still kiss your cheeks in the morning, my little nose is probably still cold to your touch. When you sit for your morning coffee, I sit and beg for food at your knee. I know you leave some scrapings down for me still. You got angry when the neighbors dog played with my favourite stick, but that’s because he can see me and we were playing in the yard and we didn’t mean any harm. It seems as though the people you work with don’t understand the pain you feel. This makes you think that your sadness isn’t valid. It is. Just because I was a pet, doesn’t mean I don’t have a large impact on your life like a human would. Feel your feelings and don’t hold them back from anyone, especially yourself. Talk about me. Remember all the silly things I used to do, like lifting one ear up at the strange sight of my own reflection in your bedroom mirror. Think of all the car rides and walks we took together. Remember all the times when you would have to force my butt outside in the rain to go and pee, and then the big muddy mess my paws would drag in. Think of all the different ways you used to try and sweet talk that I was either visiting the vet, or getting groomed; you know how much I disliked those trips. Most importantly, I want you to remember how much I loved you and that I always will. Thank you for all the treats, head scratches, cuddles and kisses.
