I got to photograph Catherine and Harry's wedding a few years ago. Recently, I got the pleasure of photographing another big milestone in their lives - expanding their family. Getting to see the journey with my couples even after their wedding is one of the best parts about what I do.

When you just cannot narrow down a sneak peek…you would never know we were freezing on the beach last night! The wind was overachieving, but she powered through and it was worth it. Senior sessions have my heart. Capturing such a pivotal time in life. And yet….they’re only so pivotal because we’ve decided that’s the time everyone is suddenly supposed to have things figured out. If there’s one thing I’ve learned as I age, it is that we will never have it all figured out. Most days I hope to have just one thing figured out. I don’t love these sessions because of that - I love them because regardless of what is next, change is coming. But celebrating who you’ve become so far is so beautiful. And my hope is that these images provide the reminder that all things can be used for His good, and you’ll be able to look back someday and see His hand in the details as life unfold. Your story matters no matter where you are.

Just a quick look through the sweetest session last night, and this one had my heart right away. It’s the joy, the expressions, the moments that will soon be distant, beautiful memories. I’ve had the honor of capturing @lstrode12 and her family three times now, and I am more than just a little sad that their time here in Va Beach is coming to an end. Laura joined a Bible study at my house a few years ago and led it while we moved away. Her beautiful heart for the Lord is such a gift, and I will truly miss her wisdom and knowledge so much! The magic of motherhood - it’s remarkable how this mama makes having a newborn baby look this easy, right?! I assure you every new mom is tired and maybe craving some more coffee, but I love that none of that the only thing you see here is the love of mom for her baby 🤍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our family was up in the middle of the night hunkered down for a tornado warning.
