Prepping for an album design meeting tomorrow, so I thought I would share a look into our heirloom albums! This is a new linen color that just came out (blush luxe linen). So far, it has quickly become a favorite.

Play over posing! Everyone else remember the days of elementary school picture day?! 😂🙈Sit on the stool, shoulders back, turn your head 2 centimeters to the left, look at the bunny just above the camera, and “say cheeeesee!!!” No posing here!!! Just a whole lot of playing and real cheesy, genuine smiles! Now that’s a memory I want framed on the mantel! 🙌🤍👏

I had a vision of what I wanted this image to look like even before I placed this beautiful mama in this field. I am drawn to nature and think of it as Mother Nature's canvas. I am also drawn to Romanticism Art. Both go hand in hand. This field, the lighting, the lens I used, mom's dress, her hair, and her pose all line up to both of the arts that I am drawn to. To me, this is like a classic painting, but instead of being made with inks on canvas, it is made through my camera and with my vision. This is a piece that is meant to be printed on canvas or fine art paper, framed and displayed proudly on a wall where it can be enjoyed for years to come. At every session, I am looking at the location and lighting with a finished work of art in mind. When it all lines up, I can almost hear the heavens sing. MOTHERHOOD MINIS ✨ Motherhood brings joy, chaos, and beauty. Im so thankful I got to help document these days that seem to go by too fast. What a beautiful day and turn out it was! It brought me so much joy to see all the energy from the littles. I want to live more like them 🥹 Motherhood is tough and good all at once! The only downfall of the whole thing was my backdrop had a hard time staying up. Any little gust of wind brought the whole thing crashing down at least once per session 🤭🤭 Thanks to all the dads who came and helped keep it up! You the real mvps. 🙌🏻

Getting to document my childhood besties biggest milestones>>> This job comes with many perks, but the fact that I get a front row seat to my best friends of 20+ years biggest moments in life... I don't think anything can top that! Heather wanted beach, walking paths, benches, and nice trees for her maternity session. In April it's always hard to know when things will be in bloom and truthfully I wasn't sure I could make that happen. Then along came Webb Memorial in Weymouth. The week before the trees started to open up and it ended up being perfect. (Despite the harsh winds, sorry Keith). I don’t think I’ll ever be done sharing images from my motherhood event this year. It was just lovely. Gonna be real here with y’all, it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. Real life happened. Some kiddos weren’t in the mood for photos, had my first no show 🥴 A sweet mama wasn’t able to make it because of sick kiddos, and guys… one mom had her home burn down LAST WEEKEND and still came because she was looking so forward to her session. But you know what, moms were ready to be celebrated. To be seen and to feel beautiful in the very important role that they play. To love their kids as they always do. It was just wonderful and I’m so excited for the mamas to receive their galleries knowing it was all worth it 💕 This is truly one of my favorite events of the year. Reflections on a Monday. When you have a child, you have all these hopes and dreams for them. Then, you get caught up in the weeds of raising littles. And in some cases it means testing and IEPs and some unknowns. Lots of ups and some really challenging downs and watching them find their way in the world and high school. You tour all the colleges and they pick their favorite and you literally cross all your fingers and toes and hope it all works out. And it does. Throw in a worldwide pandemic and a less than normal freshman year, but then, it all clicks. You get to watch their films and animations at The Senior Exhibit - and of course you’re beaming with pride as they walk across the stage to earn their degree and graduate summa cum laude. I’m here to tell you that parenting is hard. And it’s so different with every child, but there is nothing like watching your child find themselves and their passions.
