This weekend started on Thursday and has seen me up and down the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk at lots of different venues but two in particular I wanted to shout out. The first is a fairly new venue with it's own in house marquee in beautiful gardens with accomodation on site, a renovation on an old school to look forward to as well as a wedding license in the future. This little gem is called @norfolkgardenweddings so go check it out if you are searching for a venue in the north Norfolk Countryside. The second venue is one of my old favourites Hales Hall and the Great Barn. This stopped being a wedding venue a few years ago and is now an AirBNB but this week's couple have rented it all as accomodation and using the barn for their wedding reception after getting married at Norwich Castle. It was great to be back to see this impressive property. Our unique LOVE Scrabble letters look great next to the dance floor in the @magicaleventsltd Tipi We had our Harry Potter themed backdrop in the woods, moon backdrop seat with hanging moons and stars as well as a backdrop arch in the secret meadow with a glitter ball and rainbow ribbon aisle. 🛑✋🏾Please STOP this!✋🏾🛑 I’m going to be blunt here: if you’re on a budget and you take an image from Pinterest and ask a supplier “How much would this cost!?” Just know, it’s expensive!! 🫣🤣 Doesn’t matter if it’s florals, cake, decor, attire, whatever it is, if you are nervously enquiring, then I think you already know whether you can afford it. 🫶🏾 (P.s, Wed Pros; This is why it’s so important to put prices on your website, nobody wants to nervously enquire!) That doesn’t mean you can’t use Pinterest, it just means you need to change your mindset on what Pinterest is for!🧐 It’s a collection of inspirational images - keyword; inspirational! It’s not a look book of what your wedding will look like (unless you have the funds to back it up!) Remember! A good supplier would never copy from a Pinterest image anyway. It’s not their work! A good supplier would recreate the design in their own style, and only then, can it be tailored to your budget! 🥰 Now if you see an image on Pinterest that you absolutely fall in love with and money is no option, then I suggest you first of all, contact the person who the image belongs to and work with them directly. If that’s not an option then be very clear with your local supplier about what you want but don’t be surprised when the quote comes through! 👀☕️🐸 😅 To my florists, cake artists, dress designers? So what do venue stylists/ venue dressers dor? We often get mistaken for wedding planners but although our roles overlap they are very different. We offer styling to make your venue look just how you want it to. But there's such a lot involved!! We offer hire of props We also offer stationery and signs, wedding bouquets and florals. We offer venue visits, consultations and will send you a proposal. We liaise with other suppliers should you need us to including your venue. Behind the scenes we have storage full of decor. We wash, iron and maintain fabric items such as chair covers, chair drapes, table runners and backdrop fabric We remove candle wax and clean candlesticks and cylinder vases We replace batteries in led candles and tealights We make bespoke floral arrangements to match your decor We have tool kits for everything, sticky tape, white tack, batteries, screwdrivers, cable ties, wire cutters, string, safety pins, drawing pins, chalk pens, scissors and so much more . We maintain props, repainting, spraying, replacing glass in lanterns and frames, fixing and replacing broken items. We package everything carefully for each trip and for storage. We cut ribbon for chair ties, dry petals for confetti, type invoices and receipts, shop for new props, make new props, upcycle and recycle. We do styled shoots, wedding fayres, showcases, venue open days. We answer our phones all day and evening, 7 days a week (unless we are setting up or asleep 🤣). We pack your decor the day before, transport and set up on the day, collect the following day, unpack, check, clean and repack for storage We are always on the lookout for inspiration and ideas, new colours, new props. We do our own paperwork and accounts, postage and banking, marketing and social media. We send printing proofs, check seating plans. We fix damaged cakes, sew on buttons for guests, glue bridesmaids shoes, make emergency buttonholes, hold babies, hold bags, hold hands, fix hair, hug, cry wipe tears and laugh. Most of all we augh and smile and love every moment of planning with you. We love our work as venue dressers ❤️
