April 30TH 1939
The New York World’s Fair opened in Flushing, Queens, New York. The Bell System Pavilion was one of the major attractions of the fair. It featured the same major exhibits as the fair in San Francisco (see February 18 above). One highlight was conversations between Pedro the Voder (synthesized speech machine) in New York, and its twin Pedro the Voder in San Francisco. Follow us for more historical information and photos
