My bag and I are on the road today. . We've already been to @adamandevesclub to record an episode of @swing.book and this evening I am heading over to Decadance for an event hosted by @abitofamouthful_dee as part of the travelling weekenders with Red Ammunition as the DJ for the night. . I also had the chance to get my own interview done for my book research. And I got a tour of the club. If you haven't been yet, go on over to Eccles for a night (or day) out and try out Adam and Eve's. The place is really friendly and welcoming and there are so many different types of room you'll need to visit more than once to test them all. You can have a game of pool too or watch thr match, they even have a hot tub and sauna! . It's sweltering today. Well, it's hotter than I can do normally, and I've had to reapply my makeup as it slid off in the heat of the car. But I'm looking forward to this evening and a chance to see inside another venue. This time, in costume. And I love a costume. . See you on the other side 😘 . PS. You can watch the swingbook episodes on YouTube or listen to them on Spotify and Apple. Just Google it..... . . . . . #podcast #swinging #adultlife #lifestyle #thequeenofrust #nightout #Eccles #Rochdale #clublife #womenwhoread #womenwritersofinstagram #womenwhowrite #author #authenticity #bluehair #travelling

You're never to old to learn something new, and Fox Hollow Place is living proof. This year I made it a goal to teach myself how to create new things, start to finish, so that I could say "This product was handmade" and so I did. Designed, printed, cut, and bound by me, Fox Hollow Place now has notepads. 😍 Next up, learn to make sticky notes by hand...😁 #currentlyreading #writersandreaders #fantasyfiction #vinylstickers #bookmagic #bookinspired #menwhoread #bookworm #womenwhoread #tbr #enemiestolovers #bookloveredition #fantasyreader #booklover #booktok #clarksvilletn #romancereader #smallbusiness #stickershop #etsyseller #stickerbiz #bookquotes #kindleaddict #booktracker #notepads #stationeryshop #handmadeproducts

⭐️Book Review⭐️ Nelly Bly was already breaking the glass ceiling by pursuing a career in journalism. What she did to expose the ways that women were treated in the mental health institution will blow you away. It was the late 1800s and she was determined to get a story, so she faked her own insanity. What resulted was this incredible story that was originally published in a series of articles. There had been reports of brutality and neglect. Her goal was to investigate and expose anything she found. But to do that, she had to be subjected to it herself. The nurses were abusive, beating patients. The food was usually spoiled and rotten. Patients were tied together and seated on hard benches with rats, crawling all around them. They were not allowed to talk to one another or to read. When bathed they were forced to sit in cold, dirty water, and scrubbed fiercely. She was quickly convinced that many of the other patients were as sane as she was. After 10 days, the paper was able to secure her release and she achieved fame with her articles. It also forced change on the institution after a grand jury looked into the accusations and provided a larger budget. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ QOTD: what is something brave that you have done? 🖤🖤🖤 #BookReview #BookReviewer #NellieBly #10DaysInAMadhouse #Nonfiction #Classics #ClassicNonfiction #Books #Bookstagram #BookWorm #Bookish #IGReads #BookLove #BooksOfInstagram #BecauseOfReading #ILoveBooks #NowReading #AmReading #ColoradoReader #BookishInstagram #ReadersOfInstagram #BooksAreMyThing #WomenWhoRead #SoManyBooksSoLittleTime

I love historical fiction. I especially love Royals-adjacent historical fiction (I am who I am) but once you’ve read a lot, it can be tough to find new spins on familiar stories. Enter The Other Princess by @dennysbryce. This is the story of Aina, an Egbado princess, who was kidnapped by slavers as a child and then, in a twist of fate, “gifted” to Queen Victoria. She is renamed Sarah Forbes Bonetta, taught to speak English, read the Bible, dressed as a Victorian and sent to London to live as Her Majesty’s “goddaughter.” Although the families she lives with are kind, and she participates in life with the Royal Family, becoming a friend of Princess Alice, Sarah also keeps herself apart to safeguard her heart. Anyone she’s ever loved has been taken from her after all. I sat down with this book to sample a couple of chapters, see if I was in the mood. The Other Princess hooked me from the very first page and I could not stop. I was (and remain) so invested in Sarah’s life. Bryce brought her to life so completely as we follow her from Africa to London to Sierra Leone and back again. This book is an unvarnished look at the life of a woman who was made into the image of Victorian womanhood while the choice of what to do with that life was taken from her. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough if you love a dabble in historical fiction. Also, Cynthia Erivo is set to star (and produce) a movie about Sarah’s life so you really want to get on this.

A Hotwife Spring Break by Aileen Gallagher ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Over-the-top new Hotwife alert! Olive is looking to try something new and sees vacation as a time to try something out. It started with a bikini rather than a one-piece, evolved into stating what she wanted from her husband, and ended with him helping her live out her fantasies. This novella is part of a larger series written by other authors exploring Hotwives and how it fits into their already established relationships. In this case, the husband pre-planned a scene for his wife to explore and they both loved all of it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. #AHotwifeSpringBreak #AileenGallagher #ARC #BookSprout #Hotwife #Novella #HusbandSetItAllUp #Fantasies #MNBookstagrammer #book #BookReview #Books #Bookstagram #WomenWhoRead #Bookstagrammer #RomanceReader #MinnesotaBookstagrammer #Reader #Bookworm

🥀 Fine. FINE. I have officially given in to the ACOTAR hype and you know what? I actually liked it. I don’t know why I felt so resistant to it in the first place (it’s not like you haven’t enjoyed fantasy books in the past, KaThLeEn!) but I gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised! 🐺 The plot managed to hold my attention and only got better as the story progressed. The second half of the book was more fast paced and exciting - I enjoyed the many action scenes of the three trials. I am awarding the first book three very strong stars for exceeding expectations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📚 I realized that it’s been quite some time since I have gotten lost in a book series (pretty sure Hunger Games was my last completed) so there was definitely something cozy and nostalgic about being pulled into a world that is a total escape from reality and knowing I’d be in it for the long haul with the characters. Now the question is, who is going to loan me the next one? 👀😅

I'm a mood reader and I have been into quick thrillers recently. So far I've made my way through half of this stack. Have you read any of these books? In other news... I'm so bummed. Apparently the NORTHERN LIGHTS were visible in my town last night and I slept through it!!!! I didn't even know ahead of time. First I didn't know that Doctor Who came back yesterday and then this? I need to get on my game! Speaking of... My daughter has her second ever softball game today. Q. Did you play sports? Have you ever seen the northern lights? Have you read any thrillers lately? Take your pick because I'm all over the place with this post today! #stacksaturday #thrillerreader #thrillerbooks #bookstack

☀️ Not the most aesthetic picture but being able to read in bed in the morning is such a treat! Mom is visiting and she’s up with our early riser for some grandma time and I can read a bit….even though I woke up exactly when little man woke up and will probably go downstairs for my morning hugs and kisses soon 🥰 📚 My current read is The Golden Doves by @marthahallkelly and holy moly is it good. I loved Lilac Girls and Sunflower Sisters so I had high hopes for The Golden Doves and so far it is not disappointing. She has such a way with words and a fantastic ability to tell a story and connect the reader with the characters instantly. I was drawn in from the first few pages and I know this 500 page book will fly by. Arlette and Josie are so strong and I love how I’m learning about another facet of WWII. The paperback edition of The Golden Doves was published April 2nd! Thanks @suzyapprovedbooktours for my gifted copy! 🎁 About the book 📕 American Josie Anderson and Parisian Arlette LaRue are thrilled to be working in the French resistance, stealing so many Nazi secrets that they become known as the Golden Doves, renowned across France and hunted by the Gestapo. Their courage will cost them everything. When they are finally arrested and taken to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, along with their loved ones, a reclusive Nazi doctor does unspeakable things to Josie’s mother, a celebrated Jewish singer who joined her daughter in Paris when the world seemed bright. And Arlette’s son is stolen from her, never to be seen again. A decade later the Doves fall headlong into a dangerous dual mission: Josie is working for U.S. Army Intelligence and accepts an assignment to hunt down the infamous doctor, while a mysterious man tells Arlette he may have found her son. The Golden Doves embark on a quest across Europe and ultimately to French Guiana, discovering a web of terrible secrets, and must put themselves in grave danger to finally secure justice and protect the ones they love. ❔What’s the last historical fiction novel you loved? 👏🏼

🏒 Q: Are you watching the NHL playoffs? I immediately fell in love with the Appies world when I started this series, but when we got a little glimpse of Nathan and Summer interacting in Absolutely Not in Love, I knew I had to have their book. Thankfully @jennyproctorbooks understood the assignment and absolutely knocked their story out of the park! ROMANCING THE GRUMP was so freaking good! I devoured Nathan and Summer’s story; I honestly could not put this book down. Give me a grumpy hero any day of the week and I will fall in love. Nathan fit the bill. He was the grumpiest of grumps, yet he had so much goodness underneath gruff exterior. He is a complex character, working through some pretty big childhood trauma and I appreciated his character growth in the book. Plus, a man bun is always an added bonus. 💬 “I don’t think you’re half as grumpy as people say you are. You’ve got this broody, frowny persona publicly, but deep down, you’re kind of a big softie.” Summer was his perfect match, slowly nudging Nathan to change his views on relationships and love. She is unapologetically her authentic self and says what she means and means what she says. A girl boss in every sense of the word, Summer’s character was a breath of fresh air. I loved their chemistry. The banter was fantastic and there was so much tension between the pair throughout the book. It was spicy, but without the on page steam (the highest mark for a closed door romance, IMO). They share so many tender moments (her trying to make him really smile, him protecting her at all costs) and I was rooting for their HEA the entire time. As always, I loved the appearances from former couples in the series and getting hints of what’s to come next. While this one can be read as a standalone, I say you fully immerse yourself in the Appies world and read the entire series in order. ROMANCING THE GRUMP gives you: 🏒 grump + sunshine 🏒 fake dating 🏒 caretaking trope 🏒 found family 🏒 small town 🏒 hockey romance 🏒 closed door steam A huge thanks to the author for not only allowing me to read this one early, but also sending me a #gifted copy of the book. Romancing the Grump is available now!

“MIJN MOEDER LACHT” van Chantal Akerman @uitgeverij_koppernik ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ De vormgeving van dit boek viel me meteen op en sprak me als eerste aan. Ik wist eigenlijk weinig over Chantal Akerman. Kende haar naam wel, zij was een Belgische cineaste, maakte o.a. “Jeanne Dielman”. #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #boekstagram #bookstagraminbelgium #books #booklover #reading #read #lezen #lezenisfijn #lezenisleuk #leesverslaafd #literatuur #boeken #boekentip #bookaddict #leesfreak #boekenliefde #boekenwurm #leestip #langzullenwelezen #gelezen #instabooks #loveforbooks #lezeniscool #leesplezier #lezenmaaktgelukkig #leesweekend #vrouwendielezenzijngelukkig #womenwhoread

🌻 Solo Rec & Review 🌻 The Stranger I Wed 💍💧 Harper St. George Kendra’s Rating: ⭐️ ⭐ ⭐️ ⭐️ Hi guys, Kendra here! I am going to preface this review by saying Harper St. George is an automatic read for me. With that in mind, two things: 1. I already knew this would be an enjoyable read for me 2. When we were offered the ARC I jumped on it! I previously read Harper St. George’s historical romance series The Gilded Age Heiresses and I really enjoyed those books! This book is technically the first in her new series, The Doves of New York. We enter with our FMC Cora Dove, who is the illegitimate child of a noble. Upon the death of her grandmother, Cora is left a large dowry that could change her life with the stipulation she must marry. Enter our MMC Leopold Brendon, Earl of Devonworth. Lord Devonworth is in desperate need of funds to support his ambitions in parliament. When these two run into each other the perfect compromise marriage becomes their mutual solution with the agreement they will divorce after two years of marriage. What could possibly alter that plan?!?!?!!? As expected, this was thoroughly enjoyable. Please add anything Harper St. George to your TBR. Thanks to Berkley for the advanced copy! 🕊️ What are your weekend plans?

Happy FriYAY! I made it through the week and boy oh boy was it a doozy! I missed all of you and so happy to be back with my peeps. With a dreery weekend approaching, I know, no better way to spend it than snuggled up with a dark and eery thriller. The House on Cold Creek Lane Check out this teaser : Who was I? What had I become?
Breathe, I commanded. You’re doing this for your family.

When Laurel and Rob West move into their new home in New Jersey, it seems too good to be true. But Laurel can’t shake off her old feelings of anxiety. The neighbor who pays far too much attention to the Wests’ two young children . . . Rob watching her every misstep . . . and there’s something people aren’t telling her about this house . . .

I promised myself I wouldn’t go to that neighborhood again. Not that street. Not so soon.
But I couldn’t help it. They made it too easy.

Corey Sutton is trying to outrun her past. Recently divorced and reeling from a devastating loss, she moves into her widowed mother’s retirement condo in Florida. Everyone says she just needs some time to recover and rebuild . . . but is Corey beyond saving? She wants answers. And there’s very little she won’t do to get them.

Though Laurel and Corey have never met, the women have something in common, and if they’re not careful, it may just destroy them both . . . #thepulse #thrillerbookstagram #booktour #bookbesties #coverrelease #bookstagram #thrillerbookloverspromotions #severnhouse #booklover #booklove #thrillerbooksaddict #bookworm #booknerd #readmorebooks #womenwhoread #netgalley #goodreads #netflix #hulu #lizalterman #authorsofinstagram #authorsofig #bookreviews #bookblogger #summerreading #love #bookbesties

⭐️Book Review⭐️ throwback to 2019: I have never been a fan of Science Fiction. The few books I have read from this genre were forced upon me by teachers and professors. But I have made it a personal goal to read more Classics this year and so I have joined several challenges. This book was chosen as part of one of those challenges. And, wow, what a revelation. This book is chilling, shocking, frightening... This book is phenomenal! And, I am so glad that I listened to Simon Prebble read it because there is no way my mental voice could have done it justice. The narration was so filled with nuance and emotion. It was flat when it should be -- building the scary factor. Mr Prebble was the perfect narrator and I will definitely look for more books read by him. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ George Orwell has his reputation for a very good reason! 🌼🌼🌼 QOTD: Tell me about a chilling book that isn't horror or thriller. 🌼🌼🌼 #1984 #GeorgeOrwell #HoughtonMifflin #ClassicBooks #ClassicLiterature #Books #Bookstagram #BookWorm #Bookish #IGReads #BookLove #BooksOfInstagram #BecauseOfReading #ILoveBooks #NowReading #AmReading #ColoradoReader #BookishInstagram #ReadersOfInstagram #BooksAreMyThing #WomenWhoRead #SoManyBooksSoLittleTime

The kitchens in the servants' area of Petworth House were VERY cool. I think a little too "modern" for my time period but there was still a lot to be gleaned from the tour. They were bigger and more sophisticated than some I've seen. Definitely something to think about for my next series which will involve a single family and home a lot more than in previous books. So despite not seeing more of the house, I was still quite pleased with this tour. #ResearchTrip #AuthorLife #AmWritingHistFic #CleanRomance #JustKisses #SweetHistoricalRomance #WomenWhoRead #MustLoveBooks #BookBoyfriends #bookboyfriendsdoitbetter #bookrecomendations

Overall Rate: 5/10 ✨ (and this is lowkey me being generous) • Third book of the year. Okay. So let me come clean, this wasn’t the worst book in the world .. . It was written well. Descriptive. Romantic. Full of hope. It contained passion. And there was a happy ending. But I don’t know .. . This book was super cheesy to me, kinda cringy. And that’s why I’m giving it the rating that I did. I feel like if you are a super love story fan, then this is the perfect book for you. The love story within this book was so unrealistic to me. It was the type of love story that you will ONLY read about in a book, and I couldn’t help but think that SEVERAL times while reading. I can appreciate the blend of tragedy and pain, being turned into something beautiful at the end. But this book .. . I just couldn’t relate to it. It was definitely kind of juvenile. • #darlingvenom #bookclub #womenwhoread #book #booklover #bookstagram #booknerd #bookworm #bookworms #parkershuntington #fiction #lovestory #romancebooks #romancenovels #love #death #suicideprevention

#Repost @avamorgyn with @use.repost ・・・ I am proud and delighted to share this mind-blowing blurb from author Mindy McGinnis with readers!!! Technically, I unveiled this one yesterday in my cover reveal reel, but I think in all the beautiful book cover hype, some people missed it because I have friends telling me they haven’t seen it yet. And I wanted it to have its own moment to shine. I’m a fan of Mindy’s books, which are enthralling and superbly written, and when my editor shared this with me, I legit teared up. It’s such an honor to have her read and support my writing. Thank you @grandcentralpub for this #bookmail The Family Across the Street is a domestic thriller that alternates between the POV of four separate characters, well five for a moment, as the events of one day progress. The author does a great job of counting down the clock and building up anticipation. This book is short, fast paced and I was definitely hooked. Each chapter furthered the character development and their day which pushed the overall story along until the timelines and happening began to overlap. Q. I live in the woods. I can't see any neighbors' houses, and don't know them. Sometimes I do wish we lived in a traditional neighborhood. “Just because something isn’t perfect doesn’t mean we need to throw it away.” I put off reading this because I didn’t particular love the first two books in this series, but wow is the book incredible. Anna is such a great character. She wants to make everyone happy and doesn’t really understand the way her brain works. Through therapy she is diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. As someone diagnosed with ADHD late in life, her struggles with understanding her diagnosis and what that means is so relatable. It’s portrayed so well. Her relationship with Quan is so beautiful and I really adored him. He meets her where she is, which is something that she hasn’t had before. She doesn’t feel pressured when they’re intimate, and it just feels so heartwarming. He has his own struggles, buy he finds such a bright spot in Anna. Anna’s sister is such a villain. She is the actually worst, and I did hope there would be some resolution with her. But Anna and Quan’s story is so wonderful that it didn’t matter in the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Do you play an instrument? Or did you play one in school?

🚙🎸📖BOOK REVIEW📖🎸🚙 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🥰Thank you so much to @bethanyhousefiction and @nicoledeeseauthor for the gifted copy of this book! 📖Title: The Roads We Follow ✍️Author: Nicole Deese 📅Pub date: April 30, 2024 🚙If taking a road trip with your family while blasting some country tunes sounds like an ideal situation (and also if it sounds like the worst), then this book is for you! 📖This book had a little bit of everything: 🎸 Family Drama 🎸 Romance 🎸 Faith themes 🎸 Mystery/Secrets 🎸 Dual POV 🚙Reagan is thrown into a two-week, cross-country road trip with her mom and sisters to try to get to the bottom of a family rumor/crisis. Along the way, they all learn a whole lot about each other and even themselves! I have two sisters so the three sister vibe was super fun and relatable (well not all of it, LOL) and I really connected with the family dynamic aspect of the story. 🎸The story is told from both Reagan's perspective and a man named Micah's perspective. His parts are my favorite and I want to be intentionally vague about him so you can be surprised by what's revealed along the way! 📖Not many Christian Fiction authors can weave in faith themes in the way that Nicole Deese does. In her books it always feels natural and never forced into the storyline. I can't wait to see what she writes next! 🚙THE ROADS WE FOLLOW is the second book in the FOG HARBOR series but can be read entirely on its own! I absolutely loved the first book though ;) ❓What's the longest road trip you've ever been on? Was it fun?

✨ B͏o͏o͏k͏ R͏e͏v͏i͏e͏w͏ ✨ The Kiss Quotient — Helen Hoang I thought this was such a cute book! I had no idea what it was about. Not gonna lie, I was a little surprised. It started off with a bang. Omg this book!!! I love a good suspense book with smut thrown in and this was perfection! There were so many twists and turns I just didn’t know where it was going to go next and some of them I didn’t see until right before they were revealed. I did this on audio and I think that made it even better because my eyes have a bad habit of skimming down pages and spoiling things for myself 🙈 #bookstagramuk #booksta #booktok #smuttybooks #cliterature #momswhoread #womenwhoread #suspenseromance

"Imagine the places you grew up, the places you studied, places that belonged to your people, burned. But I should stop pretending that I know you. Perhaps you do not have to imagine. Perhaps your library, too, went up in smoke." ~~ V V Ganeshananthan 📖 📖 I have to thank @feministische_leseratte for the recommendation to read Brotherless Night as I finished it a few days ago and am still thinking about it - definitely one of my favourite reads so far this year, and easy to see why it's been shortlisted for the Women's Prize. Set in Sri Lanka and spanning the years of the civil war there, the book follows Sashi as she grapples with the violence around her and the affect it has on all the aspects of her life - particularly her family, friendships, and her education. I loved how the novel was written as if Sashi was telling the story directly as well; she acknowledges the nuanced and complexity of the situation, and her own complicity, while being unflinchingly direct about the horrors she has seen, and the losses she - and others - have faced. This was a 5⭐️ read for me, and as this is a library copy, I'll definitely be picking up a copy to keep and return to. Read this book in my early 20s and then reading it again after over a decade. I made my 8 year old son read it and the way he interpreted the book just amazed me. I would encourage you to either read it to your kids or make them read it. It's a tiny book which can be read within a day. Lessons learned from Who Moved My Cheese: 1. Be prepared for change. 2. When things change, keep moving. Let go of the past and move on. 3. It's important to learn to be open-minded to change. 4. Imagining what might be on the other side can inspire you move on and change. 5. Use fear to make you take action instead of paralyze you. In conclusion don't be stuck on who moved your cheese -- let go of the old cheese and go find your new cheese. #book2of2022 #Bookstoreadbeforeyoudie #telugublogger #womenwhoread #girlswhoread #browngirlswhoblog #selfdevelopmentbooks #selfdevelopmentjunkie #selfdevelopmenttools #telugublogger #browngirlswhoblog #bookstoreadbeforeyoudie #bookclubofinstagram #bookclubreads #bookclubs #womenwhoread #bookclub #bookclubs #bookclubbook #bookclubsofinstagram #bookclubreads #bookclubstagram #bookclubpick #bookclubread #bookclubselection #bookclubbooks #bookclubbing #bookclubmeeting #bookclubdaily #instabookclub

🎀 Solo Rec & Review 🎀 Bridesmaid for Hire 🌴 🍹 👰🏻‍♀️ Meghan Quinn Rating: ⭐️ ⭐ ⭐️ ⭐️ This is a Meghan Quinn post, so obvi this is Jenny speaking. 💁🏻‍♀️ Ahhh, Meghan Quinn. Another book, another stellar review. I just never tire of her stories! Bridesmaid for Hire is connected to her recent Almond Bay series, however takes place in Bora Bora at a billionaires wedding. Buckle in for vacation romance, fake relationship, brother’s best friend, enemies(ish) to lovers, and one bed with open-door spice. If you read The Reason I Married Him (which I hope you did. I highly recommended it!) we got a sneak peek of the relationship between Maggie and Brody, but in this book, we get their origin story.   Maggie and Brody just so happen to end up in Bora Bora at the same resort at the same time. Brody is there to make nice with his boss at his boss’s daughter’s wedding and Maggie is supposed to be there on a hot hook-up oriented vacay. Except she ended up at a couple’s resort 😬 and when she heard that the billionaire’s family wedding is taking place at this resort, her workaholic, hustle spirit cannot be tamed and she tries to infiltrate the wedding. And that’s how Brody and Maggie end up in a fake relationship - she gets access to the wedding and he gets the social boost of being with Maggie’s charming self while he keeps putting his foot in his mouth at every opportunity.  There was plenty of humor,  mutual “hate,” tropical vacay vibes, great side characters, and a “villain” to all get behind. ALSO… this ending is setting us up for another world collision between Almond Bay and the Cane Bros! BTW, did I tell you I met her and she signed this book?? Because I did! I met Meghan Quinn 😁 Do you think this means I can just call her Meghan now? Because we’re one step closer to being besties and all that? I think so!!  Go read it!!!  I’ll be over here happily in my delusions, waiting for the next release.  🌸 Do you have an author you wish you were besties with?

A Game of Lies by Clare Mackintosh (DC Morgan series # 2) 🎬🔥🏔️ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Genre: Thriller This was a fabulous follow up to the first book in the DC Morgan series, The Last Party, which I read last year and absolutely loved! Like The Last Party, I loved all the shifting POVs of both the main characters and the people involved in the case. The reality show setting in this one was really fun—it reminded me of The Traitors, which is a reality show I’m definitely obsessed with 😂 I also loooooooooove Ffion and Leo and it was so great to see their relationship progress. But that ending!! I need the next book stat! I think you could read this one without reading The Last Party first, but I’d recommend reading in order for the better reading experience. I liked The Last Party better, but this was still a completely addicting, five star read. Life got in the way of my reading this week, so I couldn’t binge it the way I wanted which is probably why I’m liking The Last Party better—I completely devoured that one in about 2 sittings. This is a classic thriller/mystery that fans of that genre will love and it passes my ultimate thriller test of a surprise ending! This is my 3rd @claremackwrites book and she’s officially on my list of authors who I want to read all of their books. All 3 have been 5 stars, and I highly recommend this one too!

Have you ever read the synopsis for a debut and thought, “this book is going to be a wild ride.” ? Bladestay is one heck of a debut! Deception is at the forefront of this one and you’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time. Thanks @suzyapprovedbooktours and @jaqsattack for my ARC of Bladestay! About the book 📕 When a violent, decades-long feud between two powerful men comes to a head in the small settlement of Bladestay, Colorado, cunning resident Theo Creed must use her wits to stay alive. Disguising herself as a young boy, seventeen-year-old Theo bluffs her way into the inner circle of August Gaines, the magnetic leader of the ruthless gang that has descended on her town. But the deeper Theo gets into the con, the more she starts to question her loyalties. Complicating her subterfuge is a mysterious outlaw whose small moments of kindness contradict the blood he has on his hands, making Theo wonder who, exactly, is conning who. To save her town, Theo must parse façade from reality and choose between the barefaced malevolence she’s infiltrated and an evil she didn’t know lurked at home. ❔What was the last debut that knocked your socks off?
