Legacy is important. This is my oldest son shooting the first pistol I carried in my current position. I bought it when the department transitioned to another duty gun, specifically so he could own a gun I carried in the most noble career in the world: law enforcement. When I retired from the Richmond Police Department, I bought the gun I carried there and gave it my youngest son. I’ll take him to the range soon. My father never passed on anything to me, except the desire to make sure I wouldn’t be the same way with my sons. As usual, the staff at Green Top Shooting Range was wonderful. Pretty proud of myself today. 🤗 If you know me I’m pretty jumpy with loud noises or at least someone popping a balloon behind my head 🎈(My Mom was jumpy too.) I’m sure having two older brothers jumping out at me all of the time didn’t help either.🤣😂 Some of you may think it’s silly, but I shot a gun today for the first time & I’m over 40. (Shhh) My brothers used to hunt and my Dad had a gun, but I never did. I’m proud to be a Veteran’s daughter too!🇺🇸 I’m now a proud gun owner. Please know I learned how to properly use it & it will be well secured at home. Today I overcame my fear & went to the gun range. This weekend I’ll have my concealed class. I know some of you have your opinion on my gun rights, but today I’m just focusing on stepping outside of my comfort zone. I can now protect my family & I’ve learned I’m a pretty good shot too. Thank you hubby for being patient with me. 💕Thanks to the encouraging people around me today too. Lots of positivity today. Hoping to improve next time we go. It was great to hear even at my old age that Dad was proud too. 😉 I did it! Saw gorgeous sunbeams as we were leaving.
