Mandisa's Celebration of Life was beautiful and emotional! I am grateful the family allowed an open invitation to witness it. I know I only met @mandisaofficial once and interacted with her on social media an additional time, but like all the stories you keep hearing about her- she left an indelible imprint on my life. Her music ministered to my soul and in her passing it still does. Her testimony inspired me. Her story. Her being real. It affirmed me; it encouraged me in my quest to do the same. Her love for Jesus was undeniable and infectious. Her music is the soundtrack to so many God moments. Some deep spiritual healing from an abusive relationship in my past as I listened to "Say Goodbye." I ran my first 5 mile run to "Stronger". The day I met her she performed at KSBJ concert at Chick Fila in Magnolia, Tx less than 10 mi from my home. It was November 2012, the Sat after Thanksgiving I had just finished my longest run of 5 miles that Thursday. God allowed me to meet one of my heroes, Mandisa. She sang. She shared her testimony. She mentioned Beth Moore's "Breaking Free"which led me to study it. I found even more freedom in that and her Freedom Song!!! And little did I know that day that my 7 year old only child who was with me at the concert ..when Mandisa offered an invitational prayer ...my daughter would tell me February the following year that she prayed to commit her life to Christ at that moment!!!! I followed her, her story, her music. Like countless others , she captured my heart and ministered to my soul in so many ways. Watching her service I cried: Tears of sorrow, healing tears, and tears of joy. We will miss her great light, but we can do what her dad challenged us to do which is honor her ministry by living together in the spirit of One by the ONE Spirit that came to tear down the walls of division so that two could become one. We can hold on to her music, her words, until we see her again with our Jesus face to face. For now we grieve with hope because Jesus holds her now and she is not alone. Mandisa you have overcome. Sometimes life can be heavy but don’t stop running to God when it hurts. Jesus is a burden bearer who knows it all. I remember when running a Spartan Ultra (31 miles, 60+ obstacles) was just a thought of, “Can I actually do that despite what doctors told me I’d never do?!” I decided in 2021 I would just sign up. I nearly collapsed at mile 22 on the course BUT I finished! In 6 days I return to the very same course. Even though a lot has changed in my life and in my mindset since 2021, I’d be lying if I said there’s not a part of me that’s scared because of what I faced and how I felt last time. Before I started on this small business journey, I had thoughts of becoming a mental health counselor. If I’m being honest, I still have thoughts of what that would look like because I feel passionate about how important it is and that there is a serious lack of access but that’s a story for another day! 😉 This weekend I sat at @recraftandrelic and watched as people teared up reading cards and browsing our gifts for hard times. Breaks my heart that so many are hurting or know someone who is. (Reminder : be kind, lots of people are traveling dark roads and could use some light ☀️) When I experienced the heartache of pregnancy loss, I desperately hoped that beauty would come from my pain and that my angels would be honored and forever remembered. Thank you for making space for me, for them. ❤️ The path of counselor may not be in the cards for me, but I’m hopeful that our gifts can bring even a moment of comfort to those hurting, yearning, grieving, waiting. Yesterday, I was the main speaker at a Ladies Gala, hosted by @ewellbaptist in Alabama. I met so many women, some had driven as far as 3.5 hours, and multiple churches were represented. It was an honor to stand in front of a group of women and share my testimony. Some of the things I touched on were my learning disabilities, infertility, my broken marriage, the medicinal accident, and, of course, Sarahfide. Some pieces of my testimony I've shared publicly, some I have not. Later in the day, I delivered a message that dove deeper into the spiritual impact the medical accident had on me and the steps I took and still take to help me on a day to day basis. I recorded both and loaded them to my account.♡ I know you are going through something right now. Every single person is being tried and tested in some way. Satan has an action plan for your life, but good news, so does God! If you need to be encouraged, take some time to listen.♡

I have had so many ups and downs but one of them unfortunately was always thinking I’ll never find my place and living with the feeling of ‘never being at home & always feeling alone.’ This was a belief system I lived with for a very long time. Earlier today was the celebration of life for Mandisa. She passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She released her debut album, “True Beauty,” in 2007. Her biggest release, “Overcomer,” earned her a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. I had the pleasure of seeing Mandisa live in concert back in October 2021 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She performed songs from her Greatest Hits Album! I’ve got two books and an autograph photo signed by her that I will forever cherish and treasure! She always had a song in her heart. Her spirit was tenacious. She was an overcomer, and that’s how I want to remember her. 💡Our company had a livestream on Facebook earlier this week, and one thing that was said really made us think. It was "what would we be doing now if problem X (insert problem here) didn't exist? For example, what could you be doing right now if you weren’t worried about what others would think of you? 💡It’s so true the majority of the time, our entire focus is on our problem rather than seeing beyond it, and living our lives in spite of it. We stand in our own way by placing limiting beliefs on ourselves, usually imposed on us by other people with their own limiting beliefs. (“I can’t”, “I should” “I shouldn’t”, “I’ll never be able to”) We are so focused on those limiting beliefs and live our lives according to them, and then wonder why we can’t get ahead or live our lives the way we want to. 💡Problems can be seen as overwhelming, or, they can be seen as opportunities to grow, stretch, and to learn something new. Maybe a new skill, maybe a new strategy, maybe a new perspective. What we believe determines our actions, which in turn create our reality. Change what you believe, which will change your actions, and ultimately, it will change your reality. While we don’t have control over what happens to us, we DO have control over how we respond. 💡Sometimes, just going and doing the thing that you think your problem is preventing you from doing eliminates the problem altogether! 💡So, ask yourself: what would YOU be doing right now if (insert problem) didn’t exist, and then, find a way to go and do it! P.S. When I was in elementary school, our teachers would take roll. When my name was called I would say, “Present!” If I wasn’t in school that day, the teacher would call my name and say, “Absent.” You were either present or absent because you couldn’t be both on the same day. However, when Jesus called our dear sister Mandisa home, she became “ABSENT” from her body and “PRESENT” in glory with God—on the same day! The moment Mandisa became absent was the same moment she became present!!
