Back in July, I applied for my very first Greenville Open Studios with the Metropolitan Arts Council and was humbled when they notified me that I was selected as a Dwain Skinner Fellow for 2023–such an honor! 💫 After reading Dwain’s story and learning that he was an artist and graphic designer, and about the accident that took him away from us too soon—I got goosebumps. It made all the long + difficult days I have had to push through to make it this far somehow more meaningful.
