Devotion & Cycles. These two cards, pulled at bedtime last night and this morning respectively, are speaking to me about a beautiful partnership and creation journey with my dear sister-friend Carolyn. On this new moon - solar eclipse weekend, we have had yet another breakthrough of how we can co-create something beautiful for both of us. We are discovering how we can support each other in just the places where we have felt most alone and have longed to be most accompanied. When we come together, we not only solve our separate problems, we create a third thing that is more generative and inspiring than we could have imagined when we were looking for our individual solutions. WOW! DEVOTION shows sisterhood–across age and culture, and the power of this connection, combined with the focus and love of devotion, to hold, love and care for the whole world. CYCLES depicts two faces in polarity: dark and light, below and above. 06.04.2024 ~ Daily Spread ~ Until now I had not dared to do the Root & Wings Oracle spread, because in my eyes it is a spread that reveals the soul and the purpose of its incarnation. I know that, thanks to my family of birth and my nature, I have a lot of inner strength. I know that this strength is what allows me to explore unknown areas and build new projects, but also to face the more difficult trials of my life path. I like what this spread tells, I am deeply in agreement with what it says to me and happy to see that this wonderful oracle is with me of great benevolence. CARD n° 1 : the SEED (the heart of my potential, what I am wanting to grow). The WORLD. My soul is at the end of a long evolution journey, aiming to reach spiritual awareness. J’ai choisi de poursuivre la traque avec les mêmes 2 jeux que ceux utilisés pour les fausses pistes, car le travail me semblait dans la continuité. Pour être tout à fait transparente, le tirage une fois de plus vise en plein cœur. Je ne souhaite pas le détailler parce qu’il évoque un amour et une connexion qui me touche infiniment et que je lisais déjà dans les visuels du tirage précédent. I’ve had a few people asking about why I chose my artist name. Cascade has always been one of my favourite words. Not just because I love waterfalls or the hint of onomatopoeia but I’ve always liked its meaning regarding knowledge. I like thinking about how ancient wisdom has been passed down through generations. To me, tarot and oracle cards are tools for passing on knowledge. The lessons they can teach us, the encouragement, the warnings, the guidance - I think it’s the same knowledge passed on through stories whispered around a fire thousands of years ago, the same wisdom captured by centuries of art expressing the human experience and its universal truths, the same lessons visible in the symbols and archetypes of the very first tarot decks. The cards force us to look inwards, but the new perspectives we can gain, the insights, the lessons - they are all part of a wider knowledge. It’s like we’re drinking from a vast river of wisdom, an endless sum of human experience. Something that has been cascading for centuries. ABUNDANCE as seen on the artist’s table. This image speaks to me of the Great Mother and the near-miraculous biology of breastfeeding: it is a supply-and-demand system capable of continuing for years, for as long as a nursling suckles. Another thing I love about this image?
