I’ve got a great way to make a delicious, guilt free, protein packed egg salad! 🥚 Go in that fridge 🥚 Grab those eggs (you did put them away right… IYKYK 😆) 🥚 Push the mayo aside 🥚 Grab the low fat PLAIN Greek yogurt. Trust me 🥚 Grab your mustard or lemon juice too 🥚 Don’t forget the celery, maybe spinach and if you like pickles get those 🥚 Last thing - go get some flavor… dill, pepper, cayenne… get your fave this is what makes it yours! Now get cracking, slicing and dicing. In a bowl toss in one egg and a few egg whites. Put in your flavors and just use 2 - 4 Tablespoons of that yogurt. It will be plenty. I like this salad in lettuce wraps. My friends love it on cauliflower thins. You choose. Enjoy your delicious salad - guilt free! I love it when you find things you were not even looking for. I was picking up another bottle and ran across this Tomatin 21 North America Exclusive. I am a big Tomatin fan, (and @lcoers has made it worse 😁😁, @boosted_v6, you know what I am talking about (36-years!!!) ), so I was excited to try this. A combination of 21-24 year Tomatin whiskies aged in first-fill bourbon barrels with a lovely light golden color. The nose is honeycomb and vanilla caramel, with hibiscus floral fading in and out. In the background, there is a definite barrel spirit floating in the background, but not too much to detract from the nose. The palate is very creamy vanilla forward with wonderful brown sugar working its way in, finally ending in a light spice. The finish is brioche finishing with a wonderful cinnamon toast. While it is not terribly complex, it is a wonderful dram, definitely worth the time to savor. The pricepoint is kind of all over the place, but it averages about $225. Veggie Burgers (The Asian Seasoned ones are my favorite - especially topped with a little Asian aioli!) I haven’t made these for a long time and I’m not sure why 🤔. They were always a staple in my freezer and will be again now! I was cooking with my vegetarian/Plant Paradox friend today and knew she’d like these, which is what reminded me. Today I decided to replace the cassava flour with coconut flour (I updated recipe below) and it really helped to firm them up. I think they’d even work great on a bun now (previously they were a little soft for that). Veggie Burgers with Hemp Hearts/Seeds 1 cup hemp seeds 1/4 cup flax meal 1/2 onion, riced 2 cloves garlic, riced 1/2 head cauliflower, riced 8 oz baby bello mushrooms, riced Seasonings: salt, pepper, thyme, cumin, splash Worcestershire or coconut aminos 1 small beet, riced fine 2 cups collard greens, riced 1/2 bunch Cilantro, riced 2 Tbsp coconut flour Grind the hemp seeds in processor - set aside. Mix Flax with 1/4 cup of water to make flax egg - set aside. (***see addl’ flavor suggestions below) Sauté until caramelized: onion & garlic. Add and cook until tender and liquid is reduced: cauliflower, mushrooms Stir in and cook for couple minutes: seasoning, beet, collards and cilantro. Taste for seasoning. Put in fridge until cool, then add ground hemp, flax egg and coconut flour. Form into patties using 1/2 cup scoop and place on parchment lined sheet pan. Bake at 425 for 20 mins Alternative flavors: ***Asian style: sautée the veggies in mix of evoo and sesame oil. Add ginger with the garlic. Season with Salt, white pepper and 5 spice. Make the flax egg with 1 T rice vinegar, 1 T aminos and remainder water. Delicious! ***Buffalo Style: replace water with Frank’s in flax egg. #veggieburger #veggieburgers

Of all the scotch expressions, you don't see a whole lot of cigar malts. Of those that do exist, the Dalmore Cigar Malt is perhaps the most well-known. I have never smoked tobacco products myself, but I am drawn to the cigar malts because they are specifically blended with stronger flavor and complexity. I imagine you have to have these flavors to compete with the strong smokey flavor of the Cigar. So, the scotch itself, by definition, would have a greater complexity. I stumbled across @tamdhuwhisky Cigar Malt (Batch II), and as I enjoyed the Dalmore, I was interested in this one (I also received a couple positive reviews while I was looking at it at Spec's). This scotch was fully matured in first-fill European Oak Oloroso Sherry Casks. The nose hits with a rather strong sherry with tobacco leaf, sweet ginger, and a hint of thyme. While there is some rich sugar syrup floating around, it still hits me as equal parts sweet and savory. The palate starts off with fruit, red 'pink lady' apple, plum, honeyed dates, and black cherries. The mouth coat is really nice and keeps the flavors swimming around. There is a spice that remains in the background, a cinnamon/white pepper combination, but it never gets too strong. The finish is nice and long, with blackberries, dried figs, and honey. Again, spice is in the background, but it remains very pleasant. I had to really work on this one. The complexity makes it a challenge to figure out. However, it is definitely worth the effort. This expression is bottled at 107 proof. While it has nice strong flavor, it does not drink like a high-proof scotch. The price for this bottle ranges between $200-$300. This reflects the limited availability of this expression (a total of 1,000 cases). It has been a minute, I hope you are all doing well! Had a couple of days to visit my friend @boosted_v6, and we had the opportunity to try a few pours together. I am a big fan of rum finishes in general, but I have really enjoyed how ryes pick up the flavor, though admittedly, they all work differently. Some just make the rye smoother. Some leave a beautifully sweet taste. To date, my favorite has been the Basil Hayden's Carribean Cask finish. I was excited to try this expression from @sagamorespirit. The nose immediately lets you know this is a rum finish; you can smell the rum. Very light molasses, lots of brown sugar and honey. There is, however, a sharp rye in the background, which gives the thought that this is going to have a stronger rye flavor. The palate puts that idea to bed. Yes, it is a rye, but a wonderful warm brown sugar lightly coats everything. There is a slight heat that reminds me of a warm, fresh-baked cinnamon roll. There is a little rye spice in the background, but it does not negatively overpower anything, just a nice, light 'punch' to the spice. Brown sugar continues through the smooth finish, with hints of orange and vanilla taffy. The finish itself is not really long, but the warm spice does linger for a while. I still think I like Basil Hayden's better, but this is a very close second. Cost is around $80, which is my opinion very much worth it.
