Yesterday, I bought one of those caps cyclists wear under their helmets. It had the red Zia sun symbol on the golden yellow field of Old Spain — the flag of New Mexico. I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. I called it home before I moved to Grove, Oklahoma. I sold or donated nearly everything and loaded up the trunk of my 2008 Ford Edge with my two sons, clothes, toys, and yarn; I put a rack on the back, loaded up the bikes and headed this way. I’m still in Grove, six years later. I do miss New Mexico, and I will forever be #nmtrue. But, I fell in love with this community during this season of my life. I’m proud to tell people where I am from and enjoy sharing with them all the treasures this location has to offer. And now, I get to give back in a whole new way — adult knitting classes! I’ve been happily hired on as an adjunct to instruct a beginning knitter’s class right here in Grove where we be “Living the Grand Life.” I was thrilled to learn there are adults out there interested in learning new skills. Knitting has many benefits…sure, there’s the nice projects that can be beautiful pieces of handiwork also used for upgrading your style in either home decor, kitchen and bath uses, or your outfits. But!!! Knitting has kept my blood pressure down. It helps reduce any depression or anxiety I may be facing. When I had surgery, it helped as a distraction from the chronic pain. And…with knitting, I rarely feel alone or isolated, even if I am by myself. I would absolutely love to meet you and introduce you to knitting. I have a couple projects lined up you are sure to master. Not only will you have these projects, but with them will come skills for you to explore and create something that fits your life style or needs. Come, knit with me! Thanks to our awesome team, the dogs who boarded with us had a peaceful and relaxing Fourth of July. We were able to use a combination of sound insulation, white noise, spa music, lots of TLC and creative play and potty break times to ensure our dogs had a great experience. Although we had several guests who had a history of major anxiety due to fireworks, our procedures eliminated their anxiety all together. Our fury clients are our priority and nothing makes us happier than bringing them joy!
