OOGIE BOOGIE BASH PARADE & CHARACTERS CHARACTER UPDATE The Cast event was last night 9/3 and we got a glimpse of Lotso at Toy Story Midway Mania and according to their map he’s a photo op which typically means Meet & Greet. Sid is at his same treat trail spot from last year at the Pixar Pier stage. I’ve numbered/letter listed Treat Trail Characters AND Meet & Greet Characters on the 2022 map included in this post. The Cast event did NOT have ALL the characters out so my attached list has a Confirmed AND a UN-confirmed listing. PARADE ROUTE The Map I have is from LAST YEAR’S guidebook but there are changes, so I’ve updated it to match the Cast map. I mainly use the map to show you the parade route. Remember, DCA has a much wider parade route and has a LOT more easy areas to find a quick spot. I realized I haven’t been posting much lately and that’s mostly because I’ve been so busy just with life & celebrating my birthday ( which was yesterday! ) Yesterday I decided to have a solo Disney birthday date & it was SO MUCH FUN! I tried to make it for rope drop but traffic was insane 😹 So I actually walked into the park about 8:15 am lol, but it was so good to see the pumpkin again!! I rode Indiana Jones within 15 min, did Pirates in 10 & Astro Blasters in 5. I also visited Oga’s Cantina finally and experienced Minnie’s Breakfast! HALLOWEEN EVENT NAME CONFUSION I see this a lot each year and as tonight is the first night for WDW’S parties, I thought a refresher was due. 👉🏼WDW: Walt Disney World (first logo) This location has the “Mickey’s NOT SO SCARY Halloween Party’ (emphasis added for clarification. They start tonight and run through November 1st. Their parade is the “Boo to You” parade. The abbreviated version for this event is MNSSHP. 👉🏼DLR: Disneyland Resort (second and third logos) This location USED to (as in past tense-no more-totally ended) have an event named “Mickey’s Halloween Party”. It was held in Disneyland Park. (NOT DLP-that’s Disneyland Paris). Currently the Halloween party at DLR is called “Oogie Boogie Bash” and is held inside Disney California Adventure Park or DCA. The parade is the “Frightfully Fun parade”. The abbreviated version for this event is OBB. 👉🏼So if you find yourself having people ask you which park you are talking about when you bring up the Halloween Party or correcting you when you mention the wrong party for the wrong park, this is why. Any glitch you encounter from sending you back to the front of the queue whilst you are trying to buy or any number of weirdness is a result of it being LAUNCH DAY. ⚠️Standard rules apply: try a different browser/device, clear your browser cache, reboot (yes this means you might lose your place in the queue but you have no choice if it isn’t working) or log out then log back in. Launch days are a mess so bring your patience and you’ll get through this. One other thing to try is to go through the app. Yes it will kick you to your browser but some have had success this way and I have no idea why. You can refresh your screen as the queue is tied to cookies, that’s why you don’t see that code this year on your screen. I once had a disagreement about the size of these bags we are given at check in for OBB. 🤔 Ah but you see, I’ve kept them and they are indeed the same size every year😉. They can hold quite a bit of candy too for the non-treat fanatic out there. Of course if you are a treat fanatic I highly recommend bringing empty backpacks and getting a locker. Candy is heavy and after you’ve made a few treat trail runs you’ll understand the weight of it.😄 I’ve even seen a candy professional once at the end of the night with an army sack on his back, happy kids in tow…with candy in that giant bag😳🤣. So remember you’ll have lots of opportunities to rake in the candy profits throughout the night. Plan on getting your tickets when they release or at least by the second day of release. THIS year was the fastest sell out😳 since I’ve been tracking these things from 2016. IMPORTANT NOTE: These tickets are not allowed to be sold by anyone other than Disneyland. They do actively track these things on social media and through ticket reseller sites. They do cancel tickets when they catch them. People have made it to the gates with their tickets only to find out they are refused entry because the tickets were a scam or caught by Disneyland. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. So DON’T RISK IT. Save the money NOW and get them legitimately from Disneyland when they release. You can get them later in the day on release day as the first few hours are a web traffic nightmare and very easily on the second day. So don’t panic. PLAN. SAVE. WAIT. That’s a wrap! Well apparently Cruella was on a break when we got to her so her stage was just her dresses and none of her sas🤨😑. Agatha was hilarious but I forgot to use my phone🤦🏻♀️ to take a picture of her. They really keep you moving through the busy treat trails too. Oogie Boogie’s treat trail had a big line so we skipped it. We also didn’t end up going to Pixar Pier and the line to the Villain’s Grove was too long when we finally got there😳. Definitely walked more than rested this time but we still had a good time. The heat was a negative factor for me though so we left after filling all three of our tiny bags solidly with candy and enjoying the atmosphere and great costumes. I’m sorry I missed everyone but I imagine the darkness makes it difficult to spot me, even with a lit walker🤣and waddling slowly around like I do.
