Today, 120 people came down to Neahwa Park in Oneonta this morning to support the 5th Annual Rothenberger Road to Recovery 1k, 5k and 10k Runs. 5 Years ago, Kathy and Dale Rothenberger got news that no parents should ever have to hear. Their son Luke died of a drug overdose. In response to their deep grief, Kathy and Dale decided to sponsor an event that would benefit a community organization helping people walk out of addiction. They were so impressed with the work that FORDO does that they decided to collaborate with them on the Rothenberger Road to Recovery Run. This year, the 5th annual and the first since the COVID pandemic restrictions have been completely lifted, was widely attended and a real inspiration for everyone involved in the fight. We thank all community members who came out to volunteer, run or just cheer friends and loved ones on as they raced. When we come together as a community, we have a chance of making a difference. Thanks to you and thanks to the Rothenbergers for making year 5 of the Rothenberger Road to Recovery Run a big success.
