Bośnia i Hercegowina 🇧🇦 Sarajewo. Góra Trebevic i pozostałości po Igrzyskach Olimpijskich z 1984 roku (tu pozostałość po torze bobslejowym). Dzisiaj ruina ale miasto i jego mieszkańcy nadal żyją tym wyjątkiem wydarzeniem, które miało scalić niedługo później zwaśnione strony. Wydarzenie wyjątkowe, przełomowe dla całej niegdysiejszej Jugosławii, a pamiątki po nim znaleźć można w całym mieście. Niepojęte jest to, że stadion olimpijski widziany z góry jednego roku łączył wszytkich (Serbów, Boszniaków, Chorwatów). Ci sami ludzie już w 1992 roku zabijali swoich braci, siostry, matki, sąsiadów i znajomy w oblężonym przez blisko trzy lata mieście. Ten sam stadion w roku 1997 gościł Irlandzki zespół U2, który napisał piosenkę "Miss Sarajewo". To była kolorowa odskocznia w ramach ich trasy POP Tour i zabezpieczone przez wojsko i siły pokojowe na ogromną skalę wydarzenie. Sarajewo to miasto bólu 🖤 i cierpienia 🖤. ‘Why Sarajevo?’ I felt really awkward whenever anyone asked me where my next trip was and I said Sarajevo. The reason being, people didn’t seem to understand why I wanted to go! It’s not a very popular tourist destination and a lot of people can’t even place it on a map 🤷🏻♀️ BUT Sarajevo is a wonderful city, full of history, a lot of it heartbreaking, but very important. It has incredible food, friendly people, diverse architecture and a resilient spirit. 🎵🔊⬆️ Top of my list on my trip to Sarajevo? To catch the cable car to the top of Mount Trebević… then hike all of the way back down to the city. Mission accomplished! The views across the city & mountains are spectacular. Part of the hike down is to walk the whole length of the abandoned bobsled track (which was used in the 1984 Winter Olympics). The whole experience is incredible. It was my birthday morning, the sun was shining & it was around 22°C (later that day reaching 27°C). We went early to avoid the crowds. So glad I did that. I don't want to admit it, but my first impression of Bosnia and Herzegovina was kinda shocking because of the weather, but all the beauty around me didn't allow me to keep that opinion even for two hours :) Of course B&H isn't perfect at all, but the impression it leaves is way too big to handle. On my first day here I just walked around, went to several museums, cried a little bit and spent some time thinking about all that happened and is still happening in the world right now.
