Top tips for healthy looking hair on your wedding day! Invest time in a good hair care routine. 1. Regular trims is key to healthier hair and for the growth. Try getting trims every 6-12 weeks. 2. Avoid using too much heat on your hair but when you do, make sure you use heat protector. 3. Once a week use a hair mask. 4. If you tend to use a lot of product in your hair then make sure you use a clarifying shampoo to avoid build up on your scalp. 5. Add a leave in treatment after washing your hair. 6. Use hair oil on your mid to ends. This can be when the hair is wet or once dry after styling. Oil hydrates and nourishes the hair. My brides always find them useful! 1.Take your bra off a couple of hours before the wedding (or don't wear one at all!).. No one wants strap marks on their shoulders or back spoiling the look of their wedding dress! 2.If your wedding shoes are rubbing and you have no plasters apply vaseline or lip gloss (clear not coloured) to any painful areas... It stops friction and rubbing! 3. Don't spray perfume onto your wedding dress.. It'll stain! Pat perfume on with a cotton pad or tissue... Or apply your perfume before you put your wedding dress on. 4.If your phone blows up with good luck messages screenshot each message so they're saved as photos and can be saved. You can print them out and tuck them into the back of your wedding photo album! 5. Dry the stems of your wedding bouquet before you hold it... I've seen many brides get their wedding dresses wet! 🤍LET’S TALK LIPS🤍 More often than not lips are forgotten about when getting your skin and hair in tip top condition for your special day. Lip care is so important, let me share my simple yet effective tips with you. This will also help with the day to day conditioning of your lips: - Drink plenty of water to keep your lips plump and hydrated - SPF - it’s not just for your skin!! Protect this lips from damage and drying out. Use a lip product that includes an SPF 15 or higher (lips are always exposed to the sun and its rays) and reapply throughout the day - Exfoliate your lips gently once to twice a week - like with skin consistency is key, this will help keep them smooth and nourished. I love @lush lip scrubs or alternatively I make my own. You can even use a soft toothbrush or wash cloth to gently remove dead skin - Moisturise and hydrate - lips balms or lip oils will be your best friend, remember to reapply regularly. Also apply your hydrating, nourishing balm just before bed - try to avoid licking your lips as this can strip moisture from your pout Along with skin and hair prep tips I cover lip prep with my Brides too. You - and your marriage - can’t afford these… In the realm of marriage, there's no shortage of advice. But some are pitfalls in disguise. Years back, when I was a newlywed (twice…), I was inundated with guidance. I listened to many, but looking back, there were some I wish I’d ignored. Here are three top culprits: 🛑 1. The godly wife submits without question or comment: Believe me, I've seen people go down this path (I have gone down this path) and it rarely ends well (it certainly didn’t in my case). Instead, recognize that as your husband’s helper, you’re called to influence him with your own spirit-led wisdom and discernment, through respectful discussion, and then submit to his leadership as you trust his decisions to Christ. 🛑 2. Husbands need to be trained: It’s trendy and sounds almost logical on the surface, but dive deeper and applying it could ruin your marriage. A better approach? Consider that you BOTH need to seek God’s wisdom on your individual roles, and pray for each other’s growth in them. 🛑 3. You need to do what makes you happy: It's the popular thing to do, but popular doesn’t always mean effective. Pivot to scripture’s instructions that we die to self, put others first (including our husband), and find our joy in Christ alone. In a biblical marriage, the goal isn’t necessarily to ensure a happy life where you get everything you’ve dreamed and romance forever. But by avoiding these advice pitfalls and instead seeking scriptural guidance, your marriage can exemplify the relationship between Christ and the church as it was designed - and you can leave a legacy of godliness, joy, and love. Friend, do you need hope in your marriage? Do you feel like you have “fallen out of love” with your husband, or you “just don’t love him anymore”? Titus 2:4 says that older women are to “...train the young women to love their husbands and children...” It’s interesting because the world wants us to think love comes naturally, and if it doesn’t, that means your marriage is over and you should move on to find happiness. Scripture paints a different picture. Scripture tells us that older women are to TRAIN those younger than them to love their husbands and children. Have you considered that maybe you need training to love your husband? Love isn’t necessarily a feeling, an emotion that bubbles over. Love is comprised of actions we take, postures we assume, attitudes we display. Many of these things do not happen without someone training us. Sweet wife, if you currently feel hopeless, let me assure you there IS hope! Find a godly older wife that you can trust to give you scriptural wisdom for your marriage. Let me tell you a little secret 🤫👇🏻 You don't have to have a complicated eye look - sometimes keeping things super simple has just as much impact. Perhaps you're not an eyeshadow or eyeliner wearer usually or perhaps you just want to up for a super clean fresh look - that's totally fine! What to do if you want to make changes after your rehearsal 👇🏻 First off, please don't worry! I'll re iterate over and over again that if there is ever anything you want to tweak or change you will never offend me. I have one goal, and it's the same as yours, and that's to have you feeling your absolute best self on your wedding day. We're a team in this 🫶🏻 So why might you go away from your rehearsal and decide you want things a little different? Well up until that point you've picked makeup references on someone else other than yourself, and sometimes once it's on you it doesn't feel quite right. You may not realise right away either, which is why I always say keep looking at your makeup as the day goes on and I always reach out to you for a post trial follow up to see how you've felt after this time. Grace loved her makeup initially but as the day wore on she decided that she wasn't sure the pinky tones were quite right for her wedding day and also that she would like a fuller coverage. Here's my number one tip for looking like the best version of yourself on your wedding day 👇🏻 Book a makeup artist who specializes in exactly that kind of look ✨ Really take your time to look through any potential makeup artists page and ask yourself these questions: 🤍 Do the makeup looks on my artist pages align with the kind of look I want for myself? 🤍 Are there real brides on the artist's page? 🤍 Do the images look like they are taken in natural light where possible? 🤍 Do the images look realistic (ie. can you see skin that looks like skin) Why are these points important? Well firstly, if you want your makeup a certain style for your wedding day, be that anywhere from full Kim K glam to the most natural Sofia Richie esque look, then it makes sense to book an artist whose work shows they specialise in those skills. There truly is an artist for everybody 🫶🏻 The latter points are so you know the work is authentic, so that you know you aren't getting catfished by your artist. Models, studio lighting, overly edited photos - there's a reason you can't see a single pore or any skin texture on some photos and I'm going to let you in on a secret - it's not because of the makeup.
