Nachdem nicht nur ich sondern auch die Außentemperatur abgekühlt war habe ich noch einen Rundgang durch Tolmin gemacht. Der Weg hoch zur Burg war bei den Temperaturen trotzdem noch ganz schön anstrengend. Der ausblick ins Tal und auf die umliegenden Berge war die Anstrengung allerdings wert. An der Tolminka entlang ging es dann zurück ins Camp. Auf dem Weg konnte ich noch einen kleinen Ausblick auf den Sonnenuntergang erhaschen. After not only I but also the outside temperature had cooled down, I took a tour of Tolmin. The way up to the castle was still quite strenuous given the temperatures. However, the view of the valley and the surrounding mountains was worth the effort. We then went back to the camp along the Tolminka. Look at my white flower botanical collection up there all together like a little spring inspired family. 🥹🤍 In honor of all the magnolias, jasmine and gardenias starting to bloom around me I had to capture all of my little mugs together in a picture. This is probably my favorite time of the year because just opening the windows where I’m at you can smell the beautiful combination of magnolias and jasmine blooming. 😌 Unfortunately, I don’t have any gardenias around my apartment complex BUT I do know where some are blooming and I enjoy them when I’m around them. Speaking of apartment complexes, just a little behind the scenes of this picture, I live on the third floor (the top floor) of my building. This is my balcony railing, underneath me is a concrete sidewalk….. to make things WORSE, it is spring time and I own TWO bird dogs who really wanted to be on the balcony with me while I was taking this picture. I had to tell my extra hyper bird hunting dogs in the spring time to stay inside so they wouldn’t knock my pieces down. Oh, also one of them knows how to open the balcony door and he did twice while this picture was being taken. In between watching my son climb trees, I tried out these gorgeous colors made from soil and natural pigments. Monday seems like a good day to attempt to dig back into reality. For the last almost 2 months I’ve been pretty absent, giving myself and my brain some quiet time. Running a small business is not for the weak of heart, but as a seasonal small business owner there is always this feeling of sand shifting below your feet… and one day the hourglass is just empty. Sometimes the end of busy season is a welcome sight, and sometimes it makes you question everything. This year my brain needed a break. Social media fell to the side, messages, dms, emails, texts- it all just got pushed. I am sorry for anyone who has reached out and hasn’t hear back from me, I promise I am working on getting through the back log, and for everyone who reached out to check on me- thank you! The good news of this break is that my hands, they never stopped. Knitting never felt like a burden; the feel of the yarn between my fingers, watching stacks of hats, headbands and cowls grow in every color of the rainbow helped calm the noise of it all. I’m slowing working to come back, but giving myself grace to maintain balance and not just burn myself to the ground. Coming in right under the wire, Aprils yarn of the month colors will be available tomorrow 4/30, I’m currently working on my next Unicorn Yarn update, and trying to stay ahead of the curve I’m going to start working on adding new pieces to the website.
