How your makeup look will be completely bespoke to you and your needs 👇🏻 Beautiful bride Becky wanted a version of the Nearly Natural look, where we played up the eyes slightly but kept the rest of the look really natural looking. However we made a few tweaks to make this the perfect fit. One of Becky's concerns was that she naturally flushes so we made sure that our coverage level hit that sweet spot of providing the coverage she wanted, whilst still not looking like heavy makeup. Don't believe anyone who tells you makeup HAS to be heavy for your wedding, if you have a skilled artist, it absolutely doesn't have to be. We also kept the blusher gentle and adapted the look of the liner and lashes to best suit Becky's eye shape. Whilst reference photos are so important and a great way of communicating with your artist what you are looking for, remember no makeup look is one size fits all and when you come for your trial you will get a look that is totally unique to you and your needs. Where should hair and makeup set up on your wedding morning? 👇🏻 Wedding season is upon us and there's so many things to think about - including where your suppliers will set up on a wedding morning. For makeup - daylight is my priority, always! It's a hill I'm happy to die on. So when you get to where you'll be getting ready then make sure to scope out the best place for your makeup artist to work from for the best results. If there's no table there? Move one over! Or if it has a nice deep window sill like this then that also works - however please note I'm a serial decanter and make my kit as small as possible, some artists may need way more space to lay their kit out than this so keep that in mind. For hair - a plug socket in an area that isn't a thoroughfare is the main priority. No kids or dogs in this area please 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I have genuinely had styles not turn out as well on the day as at the trial because I've spent over half the appointment guarding my hot tools from toddlers roaming near them (🔥😱) and I've had incidents where dogs have ran through the wires and my (super expensive 😬) tools have been knocked from the table to the floor. It also just doesn't make it a relaxing experience for anyone. So an area free from disturbances, within extension cable reach of a plug socket. And again, a table to set up on. It may not be the most exciting thing to figure all this out when you get to where you're staying, but I promise you the wedding mornings where my brides have done this are always the most stress free and have the best results hair and makeup wise so it's SO worth it. . . . Soft but secure updo’s are my specialty! I often hear the words I don’t like my hair to look too done or stiff but it needs to last the whole day. When it comes to a secure updo it doesn’t need to be uncomfortable with hundreds of hair grips/bobby pins! I use a combination of styling products which give me grip on the hair and hair elastics. What I knew Vs what I didn't... For Hattie's wedding I knew that we needed to have everyone ready by 10am as she had an hour or so journey from @thegrainstoreweddings where her reception was and where we were getting her ready to the church in which she was getting married. What I didn't know...was that this journey would be being made both ways in an open top Landover, with a stop off on a windy beach for some photos 🫣😅 Hattie had also said in her pre trial email to me, "The only concern about my hair is that is it very fine and it really doesn't hold curls well" - this is a common misconception and I promise you unless your hair has been chemically straightened that with the right knowledge and techniques any hair can hold a curl.
