يظهر الصور الجسر التاريخي وأطلال معبد أفقا من الأساطير التي حدثت في هذه القرية بالإضافة إلى القرى الأخرى في جبيل و كسروان، و أهم أسطورة تاريخية تجمع بين هاتين المنطقتين هي أسطورة أدونيس وعشتار. و تتحدث هذه الأسطورة الفينيقية عن قصة الحب بين أدونيس وعشتار التي انتهت بشكل مأساوي بقتل أدونيس. ووفقًا لتلك الأسطورة، وفي بركة شلالات قرية أفقا بجبيل، نزف أدونيس حتى الموت بسبب جرح عميق. عشتار شعرت باليأس عند مقتله وطلبت من ربها أن يعيده إلى الحياة! لكن هذا لم يحدث، وبدلاً من ذلك سمحت الآلهة لذكرى أدونيس أن تكون في كل القلوب. وفي كل ربيع، وفي نفس وقت قتل أدونيس، تذوب الثلوج وتجلب طينًا أحمر إلى النهر من المنحدرات الجبلية. وتقول الأسطورة أن هذا هو دم أدونيس، الذي يتم تجديده كل عام، وقت قتله. أيضا في الوادي الخصيب المحيط بالنهر، تتفتح ملايين من شقائق النعمان القرمزية، المعروفة باسم زهور أدونيس، ووفقًا للأسطورة، تنبثق شقائق النعمان من دمه وتعود كل عام للذكرى. تم تسمية النهر من قبل "نهر أدونيس" و قبلا "نهر تموز" ثم أعيدت تسميته "نهر إبراهيم" ويستمر في التدفق من جبيل إلى كسروان حتى يصل إلى البحر. و نهر ابراهيم ينبع من مغارة افقا عند جبل المنيطرة، يرفده عدد من الينابيع والجداول، اهمها الرويس من العاقورة، نبع الحديد من جرد قهمز، ونهر الدهب من فتوح كسروان ويصب جنوبي جبيل حيث بلدة نهر ابراهيم حاليا. يعتقد اهالي اليمونة ان نبع مغارة افقا آت من بحرة اليمونة التي ترتفع 13 كلم عن النهر . و تفسير اسم أفقا كان قد ردّ الإسم إلى جذر "أفق" السامي المشترك يفيد عن الإحاطة والتسوير والحمى، علما بأنّ أفقا كانت حمى لأدونيس، وإن كان هنالك تفسير آخر يعني المخرج المتدفق . تحتفظ أرض أفقا التي كانت المركز الرئيس لعبادة أدونيس، ببقايا لهياكل ومزارات كثيرة تعود لتلك العبادة، كان يتقاطر الحجيج إليها من جميع أنحاء العالم القديم، أهمّها بقايا هيكل أدونيس وعشتروت. و مغارتها مفتوحة على وصفها إرنست رينان بأنّها من أجمل الأماكن في العالم. يمكن أن تكون قرية أفقا الأقدم في العالم بأسره، كما أن طرقها، وكهوفها، ووديانها، وجبالها، وأنهارها يوجد فيها أدلة أثرية تدل على أن القرية كانت مأهولة منذ حوالي 10.000 عام، وقد جاء في بعض المدوّنات أنّ أباطرة الرومان، على عزّهم، كانوا يحجّون إلى معبد عشتار ويخصّونه بعطفهم ويحرّمون قطع ما يحيط به من غابات، فبالإضافة إلى الأمبراطور أدريانوس حجّ إلى الهيكل ماركس كراسوس. 📷 @ma7moudabdllah ©️ @mustseelebanonn #mustseelebanon #lebanon #lebanese #beirut #travel #explore #afqa

Liban’ 20,9 x 28 cm Située à 80 km de Beyrouth, à une altitude de 1 200 m, la cascade d’Afka est un lieu dédié à la célébration des cultes d’Adonis et d’Astarté. La source de cette cascade émane d’une majestueuse grotte nichée dans le flanc d’un rocher à pic, haut d’environ 200 m. Selon le mythe, le ‘rougissement’ du fleuve Nahr Ibrahim, ne serait que le sang même d’Adonis, Dieu de la Beauté, tué par un sanglier. Il s’agirait donc du sanctuaire-berceau du culte d’Adonis, mort dans la grotte de Afka. Les femmes lui rendaient dans l’Antiquité un culte vibrant en se lamentant sur son sort tragique, gémissant et criant: ‘Il est mort le bel Adonis’. TERRE Liban received a complaint from Afqa - Jbeil district about the works of opening roads, digging and filling in Nahr Ibrahim, an environmentally and archaeologically sensitive area, which is classified as a natural site protected by the Ministry of the Environment, without permits.
