Richmond, Tasmania is a beautiful historic country town near Hobart. Sandstone was the primary stone of choice for construction of bridges and buildings back in the 1800’s. Day 20 ~ we couldn't leave Hobart city with out spend more special times with our Aunty and Uncle. These etimes will definitely be remembered! We then started to make our way back to to our van. We stopped in and got lost in Richmond at the maze there! The hedge maze you had to find all the animals! Was a great little maze to get lost in! We found all the animals! The wooden maze you had to crack the code, which was also solved. The sheets of paper that was given out at the desk had different codes on so that was good so no cheating! Haha After finding our way out of the mazes we then headed further north, and stopped in at Oatlands. The big windmill at callington flour mill. They have done up the area since we last stopped there so was nice to see the new things. Unfortunately the brewery was closed so we couldn't go in. Started our day today at Coal River Farm with some coffee and chocolate. We then tasted a few cheeses at Wicked cheese factory. Afterwards we travelled to @amazerichmond for a great morning chasing each other through the timber maze and the hedge maze. After a bite to eat we tasted a few different beverages @drinktastastinghouse . To finish off our day we ventured a little further for a wine tasting @noctonvineyard . What an amazing and professional tasting setup paired with laidback and friendly service. Richmond is a gorgeous little town historic town with so many delicious food options! The architecture is beautiful with more than 50 historic buildings, mostly from the 1820s. It also has the oldest bridge in Australia that’s still in use. Built by convicts in the 1820s. Whilst here we visited the Gingerbread house and tried some delicious cookies, had the best ever vanilla slice from the local bakery and the kids almost died from excitement in the sweets shop! The mazes at Amaze were lots of fun and the extra ‘find it’ and code cracking a great idea. We spent two great afternoons exploring around Richmond. #explorerichmond #richmondtasmania

The Pooseum is fun and informative for adults and kids alike. The owner is so lovely and passionate about the wonderful business she has built. So many facts and cool & quirky things to see, do and learn; even the bathroom is fabulous. My 4 year old wanted to sit down after a while and the owner gave her books and puzzles to entertain her while we wandered. Funky, interactive computer software was a big winner too. Today was Day-of-David in the Fab-Fifty-Fest-of-Jen. We had an amazing time (not just a bad pun but the *truth*!) at ‘Amaze Richmond’ which has only been open for one week. It’s taken six years to grow that incredible hedge maze. The timber maze (elevated over a dam) is also excellent - it was the first maze on this site but has been closed since 2015 while the hedges, and accompanying buildings, grew. The whole thing has been really well designed - lovely indoor and outdoor cafe and viewing platform. I can imagine many, very-good-fun work functions taking place here!
