A monumental and imposing Ibibio, Nigeria, masquerade mask with an articulated and moving jaw and native repairs. This mask was likely used in carnival-like celebrations. It dates from the mid 20th century, and while it is eccentric and not a classic Ibibio form, its wear and surface demonstrates its extensive use within the culture.
