⭐️Mural "Episodios Nacionales" de Artez⭐️ Esta obra, firmada por el artista serbio Artez, ser realizó durante la feria de arte contemporáneo Urvanity 2019. En esta ocasión el artista nos muestra a una joven de pelo negro recogido en un moño de estilo japonés y con kimono lavanda que sostiene en sus brazos una pila de libros, entre los que se leen títulos como los ‘Episodios nacionales’ de Pérez Galdós o una monografía de Goya, y una casita para pájaros. “Met die ene noot het verschil maken” Eline van der Veen (@eline_vdveen ) studeert dit jaar aan de Master Muziektherapie van het ArtEZ Conservatorium Enschede, waar ze ook haar bachelor behaalde. Ze is werkzaam als muziektherapeut bij de stichting ZuidOostZorg in Friesland en is van daaruit betrokken bij een mooie pilot in het Nij Smellinghe ziekenhuis in Drachten. In deze muzikale pilot wordt muziek(therapie) ingezet op de Intensive Care (IC) en de afdeling Neurologie van het ziekenhuis. Deze week kreeg Eline diverse media op bezoek om haar te interviewen en een kijkje te nemen achter de schermen bij haar als muziektherapeut op de IC. “Muziek zit heel diep”, zegt Eline van der Veen. “Het is er op belangrijke momenten in het leven: wanneer mensen hun eerste liefde hebben, wanneer ze een dierbare verliezen, of juist als ze alleen zijn. Het zit er altijd. Dinsdag vertrokken verschillende groepen na het ontbijt naar De Brandenburger Tor, het Bundesrat, een streetart route en de dierentuin. En er werd ook nog even gebreakdancet op straat. Did you know that music therapy can help premature babies? 👶 Janneke Oldengarm has been studying this phenomenon for six years. It started at the Academy of Music in Enschede during the bachelor’s course Music Therapy. This is where she discovered what music therapy is, and what it can do. Through the different music Janneke plays, she offers a familiar sound to the babies. Like the sound of their mother’s womb. This is to ease the transition for these vulnerable babies. Now she is graduating from the master's course Music Therapy (@artezmastersofmusic). "Despite my experience, I felt that I needed to deepen my knowledge. I had the feeling that I hadn't yet learned all that I wanted to learn." The master’s course helped her provide the evidence base for her work. Her field of work is still quite new and niche so she was often asked questions. During the master's, she learned how to properly justify her work. Janneke is currently working at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the UMCG while completing her master's degree 🎓. 📕 Janneke also has advice for music therapists and prospective students considering a master's degree. "If you are interested in deepening your knowledge, making your work more evidence-based and conducting research, then a master's course is for you. In the new ArtEZ Story we asked Camilo (@camilosaxmusic ) about his journey from his birthplace in Colombia to Aruba and how he ended up in the Netherlands to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz & Pop at ArtEZ Academy of Music in Arnhem. THROWBACK THURSDAY Afgelopen dinsdag, 16 april, sprak Prof. dr. Anja Volk haar inaugurele rede uit als hoogleraar Computational Musicology. Samen met Prof. dr. Pieter-Jan Maes van IPEM Universiteit Gent, Dr. Rebecca Schaeffer van de Uinversiteit Leiden heeft zij het netwerk LoCoMus opgericht. Een samenwerkingsverband voor iedere Europese wetenschapper en musicus die geïnteresseerd is in het interdisciplinaire veld van muziek, technologie, computerwetenschappen en cognitie. Zij benoemde in haar rede expliciet het belang van de samenwerking met muziektherapie. Vanzelfsprekend was onze afdeling muziektherapie aanwezig. Muziektherapiedocent Laurien Hakvoort was daarvoor naar Utrecht afgereisd. Maak kennis met het collectief: Hoi ik ben Robin en ik krijg (financiële) paniek gevoelens als ik aan rijden op een snelweg denk. Daar was ik het minst bekwaam in tijdens de vele vele (vele) rijlessen die ik gereden heb. Ik durf niet op te zoeken hoe veel het er zijn geweest en zeker niet hoe veel knaken er doorheen gevlogen zijn. Het liefste denk ik er eigenlijk helemaal niet aan. ARTEZ X RMT NEXT 25 april Het ArtEZ Conservatorium is altijd op zoek naar mogelijkheden om haar studenten te verbinden met het werkveld. Dat doen we vaak ook in samenwerking met culturele partners uit Oost-Nederland. Een van die mogelijkheden is “RMT-next” van het Rijksmuseum Twenthe. 5x per jaar is het Enschedese museum ’s avonds geopend met een te gek programma vol activiteiten waarin je als bezoeker ontspannen sfeer meer te weten komt over de kunstwerken, kunstenaars en tentoonstellingen in het museum. Voor studenten van het ArtEZ Conservatorium Enschede, de @aki_art_and_design, @utwente , @saxionnl en @rocvantwente zijn deze leuke avonden gratis toegankelijk! Het museum trakteert op verrassende (artist)talks, speed tours, performances, bijzondere cocktails en zeker ook muziek van o.a. ArtEZ studenten. Tijdens RMT-next op 25 april draait de van oorsprong Duitse DJ Amélie (@amililiii) die als Electronic Artist & Producer studeert binnen MediaMusic. Amélie draait een lekkere set vol meezingers en dansbare euforische songs; zo staat Amélie garant voor een mooie en afwisselende atmosfeer. Joris Kostelijk (@joriskostelijk ) studeert in zijn 4e jaar van Muziektherapie. Tijdens de komende RMT-Next editie geeft hij alvast een voorproefje van zijn EP “Safe Space” die 10 mei met een ligconcert wordt gereleased. Joris probeert vanuit zijn achtergrond als muziektherapeut in opleiding met zijn muziek mensen te prikkelen en te raken. Hij wil zijn luisteraars in beweging brengen, op welke manier dan ook. Deze editie van RMT-next staat in het teken van de tentoonstelling ‘Houtskool x 9 kunstenaars’; een diverse en veelzijdige expo van 9 gerenommeerde hedendaagse kunstenaars uit Nederland, Duitsland en Frankrijk.
