Keleana 4 - La reine des ombres SJM ⚔️ Cette saga est décidément trop bien, les tomes sont de mieux en mieux. L’univers est très bien travaillé et complet. Les révélations s’enchaînent et on comprend mieux certains personnages. ⚔️ J’aime beaucoup l’évolution des personnages, l’intrigue de ce tome et un début de romance. La romance n’est pas du tout au centre de la saga en tout cas pour le moment. On est vraiment dans une fantasy politique où les choses se mettent en place doucement, mais sûrement ! ⚔️ J’ai adoré ce tome et j’ai hâte de lire la suite, malheureusement le dernier tome sort seulement en octobre !!! Du coup, je vais ralentir histoire d’économiser jusque-là… Aussi, l’alternance de point de vue est très intéressante puisqu’on suit ce qu’il se passe dans le royaume à différents endroits. 📖REZENSION📖 (unbezahlte Werbung) „Healed“ ist der letzte Band aus dem „Wicked Universum“. Es beinhaltet die Kurzgeschichte: Die Königin, welche direkt an die Kurzgeschichten des Sammelbandes „Kissed“ anschließt. Geschrieben wurde das Werk von Jennifer L. Armentrout 2023 ist es dann im deitschsprachigen Raum unter dem Heyne Verlag erschienen. Ich besitze die Sonderauflage von @buecherbuechse Die Geschichte von Brighton und dem Sommerkönig Academy geht in die letzte Runde. Brighton ist schwanger mit seinem Kind. Allerdings können sie nicht zusammen sein. Eine Beziehung zwischen ihnen beiden könnte den gesamten Sommerhof für viele Jahre schwächen und dies würde die Bedrohung durch den Winterhof ins Unermessliche steigern! Wird Brighton es schaffen sich von Caden abzuwenden und das einzig richtige zu tun? Tatsächlich hatte ich bei diesem Finale zu dem Spin off ein gewisses Dejavú. Genauso wie bei der Wicked-Triologie, fand ich den letzten Band jetzt am schwächsten. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass es in der Reihe nur um die Liebesgeschichte und nicht den eigentlichen Vorkommissen mit den Fae geht. Wir haben in beiden Reihen das selbe Muster. Sie und Er lernen sich kennen. Sie wird schwer traumatisiert. Sie und Er finden zurück zu einander. In beiden Reihen werden aber die Vorkommnisse nicht völlig klar bewältigt, wodurch es teilweise ein offenes Ende hat. Ich persönlich finde das tatsächlich sehr schade, da ich die Reihe ansonsten echt großartig fand. Dennoch ist der letzte Band des Spin offs besser als der letzte Band der eigentlichen Reihe, da dort deutlich mehr passiert. I am so excited to find this Café. It worthy to write journal for it. This morning, I woke up in a heavy headache. And some lines I read in Klara and The Sun last night still sparking in my mind. Just thinking about which café should I spend today; I open the Google Map. Typing the key words “Coffee” and “Books” together in the searching bar. With the randomly poking on screen, google finally guided me to step on their gate. Literal fiction full their bookshelf, and I have to say, the master definitely an addict on literature. My eyes spotted on several author like: Shakespeare, Murakami,…,and wait, what had I seen: Proust! In a corner of bookshelf, seven volumes of In Search of Lost Time quietly stand there. I don’t know why, kind of power of serenity made my chaotic head to be clearer at that moment. And I started to realize, people seating here were hardly to talk. Most of them were focusing on their reading. Magics by Proust? Say something about the versions. I order the first edition with title Remembrance of Things Past, which published by penguin classics. But they told me that I must wait for four months, since it is shipped from UK. But I think it is worthy to wait for it, since the second edition more and less ruined the smoothy flowing, I still have no idea why they made such changes. Czytało się to genialne. Przeczytawszy opis troszkę bałam się naukowej nomenklatury, gdyż nie zwykłam interesować się technologią. Obawy były zupełnie niepotrzebne, całość jest bardzo prosta w odbiorze. Pomysł na fabułę to istna bomba. Tytuł ten ma wszystko, by stać się bestsellerem. Świetny pomysł, dopracowaną fabułę, dobrze wykreowanych bohaterów oraz zakończenie, które zapamiętam na długo. Całość szalenie inteligentna. ,,Era" to książka, którą ogromnie Wam polecam. Czy macie swoje ulubione sagi historyczne? Do moich ulubionych zalicza się Saga Kaszubska. Aktualnie jest świetny moment by o niej przypomnieć, gdyż 10 kwietnia miała miejsce premiera czwartego jej tomu. Jest to kolejne spotkanie z rodziną Stolmanów oraz ludźmi, którzy ich dostarczają. To kolejna lekcja historii przedstawiona tak, że nie sposób się od niej oderwać. Wydarzenia autentyczne stanowią kanwę fabuły i przeplatają się zręcznie z wykreowanymi przez autorkę bohaterami (genialnie wykreowanymi swoją drogą). W tej części Druga Wojna Światowa przewraca życie bohaterów. Kaszuby zostają przyłączone do Trzeciej Rzeszy. Społeczeństwo kaszubskie jest podzielone, tak jak było podzielone zawsze. Autorka bardzo fajnie i nader realnie przedstawiła ten rozłam. Jeśli nie znacie tej sagi, koniecznie musicie to nadrobić. Jest to jedna z tych sag, które polecam każdemu. Uwielbiam, gdy bohaterowie dorastają i starzeją się na mych oczach, tak jak dzieje się to w cyklu Pani Darii. Ręczę, że jestem emocjonalnie związana ze stworzonymi przez nią postaciami. Bardzo podoba mi się wtrącanie kaszubskich zwrotów i nazewnictwa, co nadaje całości niezwykłej oryginalności. Za każdym razem czytając nowe części rozważam, jak niewiele zmienia się człowiek na przestrzeni lat. Wykreowani bohaterzy borykają się z uniwersalnymi problemami, które wciąż są aktualne. “We as an English-speaking people can’t not eat our dead — our language loves a cannibal. We don’t just win at sports, we kill the other team; we demolish them; we devour our opponents. To express a baby’s cuteness, we say we could eat her up.” I want to preface this by saying that I absolutely adore cannibalism in literature, music, film and art. As the opening quote above says, so much of our language and culture in the West is linked to cannibalism that it can be used as a metaphor for basically anything: love, desire, colonisation, consumerism, capitalism, marginalisation. In A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers, our main character, Dorothy, is a successful (and psychopathic) food critic and chef who sometimes eats men. So many reviews for this book are people calling her a “girlboss” and saying “good for her” and I agree 😂 Dorothy’s voice in the book (it’s written in a memoir format) and her lifestyle is very male or masculine: she basically does what she wants, whenever she wants, and consumes everything life has to offer with a callous selfishness, including men. The cannibalism in this book is just a reversed symbol of female objectification - under the patriarchy, we think and act as though female bodies are luscious and smooth and tender, something to satiate the men’s desire and hunger - so it was so refreshing to see a woman thinking that way about men. That being said, though, the memoir style of the book kind of kept a barrier between the reader and the character. It might just be because I’m not a fan of memoirs in general, but it felt like it kind of trapped the story because it was more a commentary of events instead of experiencing it in the moment. It is definitely still worth the read, though, and it’s such a punchy short book that really understands cannibalism and consumerism and gender. But keep in mind that it is quite grotesque, so make sure you consider this before reading!

Efter Alexander-triologin var det dags för något mer lättsmält, och valet föll på den här trilogin av Jenny Colgan. De här utspelar sig i och omkring en liten by på Skottlands högland och några av människorna som på olika sätt hamnar där. . I den här boken träffar vi Nina som arbetar som bibliotekarie i en större stad och där precis fått reda på att biblioteket hon arbetar på ska läggas ner. Hon bestämmer sig att satsa på sin dröm att öppna en bokhandel, och pengarna räcker till en på hjul - så det blir en bokbuss. Den tar henne så småningom till Skottlands Högländer och där börjar en ny del av hennes liv. . Jag gillade den här, det är vacker miljö, mycket böcker och bokreferenser, samt otroliga karaktärer som man lär känna på ett fint sätt och man hittar sympati för även de mest vresiga och otrevliga.
