La chevauchée fantastique! Mais que font ces hérons qui s agitent sur ces canassons? 🐍 S il est vrai que les chevaux sont un moyen bien sympa pour se déplacer, pas sûr que ces Hérons garde-boeufs se la jouaient flemmard. Ils ont une manie de grimper sur les grosses bêtes, et c est surtout pour manger les plus petites. Heute haben uns diese anmutigen Vögel besucht. Es waren insgesamt 5 Reiher und sie blieben einige Stunden auf der Spitze der Zeder hinter unserer Wohnung. Laut Google Lens handelt es sich um Kuhreiher und laut meiner Recherche setzen sie sich gerne weidenden Tieren wie Rindern auf den Rücken, weshalb sie wohl entsprechend heißen. Fotografisch ganz sicher kein Meisterwerk, aber es ist leider das einzig verwertbare Bild vom Kuhreiher, der vor ca. einem Monat für ein paar Tage bei uns Rast gemacht hat. Ich war leider aus beruflichen Gründen nur einmal noch abends an der Stelle wo er seinen Schlafplatz hatte - am nächsten Tag war er dann auch schon wieder weg. Dieses Jahr war meines Wissens das Jahr, wo aussergewöhnlich viele Kuhreiher in Deutschland eingeflogen sind. Sie sind ursprünglich in Afrika beheimatet und leben sonst eher in Ländern wie Italien oder Spanien. Dass die so weit Richtung Norden ziehen, ist wohl auch ein deutliches Zeichen des Klimawandels… Photographically certainly not a masterpiece, but unfortunately it is the only usable picture of the cattle egret that stayed with us for a few days about a month ago. Due to work reasons, I was only at the spot where it had its roost once in the evening - the next day it was already gone. To my knowledge, this year was the year when an unusually large number of cattle egrets migrated to Germany. They are originally native to Africa and usually live in countries like Italy or Spain. Crowded for the night Lots of cattle egrets and African sacred ibises, in one of many trees like this in Masai Mara last summer. If you zoom in, you can see juvenile sacred ibises in the middle. It was so awesome to find this place! On the first afternoons, we saw flocks of egrets flying in the same direction without knowing why. But finally we found out where they all went for the night. On a bog, the trees surrounding it and also the trees in the middle of it like this one, were filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of egrets and ibises in all directions. They also seemed to nest there. There were lots of other bird species in the air, trees and on the bog as well. Garcilla Bueyera. Es una de las garzas (ardeidas) menos ligadas al agua. Se le suele ver acompañando al ganado (de ahí el apellido "bueyera") y a los tractores alimentándose de los insectos de los campos agrícolas, aunque siempre cerca de lagunas o ríos donde también se alimentan, crían y duermen. #bubulcusibis
𝑩𝒖𝒃𝒖𝒍𝒄𝒖𝒔 𝑰𝒃𝒊𝒔 Garcita Bueyera Común en pastizales, humedales y campos abiertos, suele desplazarse solitaria o en pequeños grupos en búsqueda de pequeños artropodos, anfibios , reptiles, moluscos ,roedores y dipteros. A menudo se ve junto al ganado vacuno limpiando lo de cualquier tipo de plagas que lo pueda afectar, por esto también recibe el nombre de Garcita del ganado, igualmente se ha observado aprovechando la remoción o arado del suelo por la maquinaria agrícola donde aprovecha la huida y descubrimientos de lombrices, larvas e insectos de los que también se alimenta. Es originaria del antíguo mundo, Europa, África y Asia. Su plumaje varía de acuerdo a temporadas reproductivas, presentando coronilla, pecho y espalda amarillentos durante el periodo de reproducción y mayormente blanca el resto de vida. A White Cattle Egret (in breeding plumage), at Kahala. Named "Cattle Egret" because it eats up the insects hiding on the ground, which get stirred up when the cattle roam through the grass. In Hawaii I often see them by the side of road or on 2-way road islands. I'm guessing this is because the cars stir up insects in the same way as cattle do. When breeding, Cattle Egret develop orange-buff breeding plumage on their head, chest and back, so this bird is definitely in breeding. Related to heron, these serene birds are distance gazers.
