This is a tough one. And took me far too long to learn. Not only am I a recovering perfectionist, I’m also a recovering people-pleaser…with a lot of recovery to go! It’s so hard to follow your OWN path. There are voices in your head telling you that you’re selfish or unhelpful when you do. I know those voices. They've shackled me for longer than I care to admit. But it wasn't until I started sayin NO to so many more things (pick-your-brain phone calls, coffee meet ups, volunteering, sponsoring events) that I landed more firmly into my Yeses. I stopped spreading myself too thin. I started aligning my time with my actual priorities. Yes, I've disappointed others. But do you know who I stopped disappointing? ME! And, friend, that feels so good!
