Hiked Flat Rock today! These boys did all 5 miles! What an amazing view! Totally worth it! It was a beautiful day to be outside. On the way up we passed an elderly man coming down with the help of his grandsons on both sides. I couldn’t believe he hiked to the top. His family explained that this was year 30 of hiking to the top and most likely his last. He had the biggest smile as his grandsons guided him down one step at a time. I continued on with tears in my eyes and a sense of encouragement. Life is hard, but you can always, ALWAYS keep going. Never give up! God is good! Here’s Caden’s latest baking creation in all its glory 👨🏻🍳🌟 This was originally inspired by a show called Baking Impossible where engineers and bakers partner together to compete in various challenges and make a “Bakineering” creation. Such a fun show!! Anyone else watch it?? If not, I recommend it:) Caden had VERY big ideas and plans for this cake and not all ended up making it to the final product. But considering that we were trying some brand new treats and experiments AND that we were on a time crunch -he made this as a special birthday treat/gift for a party Saturday for some of our favorite friends 🥳 - I think it turned out great. And everyone said it tasted great too! 🤑 One of the coolest parts is that on all four corners of the cake, there are surprises where each of the four birthday kiddos had to pull a tab or open something to get their bday money out 🤑 That was super fun, and is precisely when I had to call in backup from daddy to help with some thinking/engineering 🤓 While Caden had the vision and did all of the baking, there was definitely some collaboration in decorating and putting this all together. It was a family affair!! And it was a lot of fun. But I think I’d like to take a break from baking for a bit 🤪 #cadenmichael #bakingadventures #mylittlebaker #proudmommy #makingmemories
