4 év 🎉🎁🩷 Napok óta nézegetem az elmúlt évek képeit, és nem fogok hazudni: potyogtak a könnyeim. Próbálok visszamenni az időben, és rájönni, hol rontottam el? Mit tehettem volna másképp? Próbálom nem összehasonlítani Mia állapotát más Dravet-szindrómás gyerekekkel (akik sokkal jobban fejlődnek), mert ez genetika; nem tehettünk semmit, a természet így működik. Lehet küzdeni, gyógyszerekkel kísérletezni, fejlesztésekre járni, alternatív megoldásokat keresni, lehet hinni, de valahol egyszerűen csak el kell fogadni. El kell fogadni, hogy a gyerekünk 4 éves korára kognitívan hanyatlik, nincs előrehaladás, és az élet nem egyre könnyebb lesz, mint ahogyan a kisgyerekes szülők sokszor ezzel motiválják magukat nehezebb időkben, hogy “majd egyszer elmúlik”, hanem a mi életünk egyre nehezebb lesz. Mostmár nem tudom csakúgy a hátamra kapni Miát és menni vele akármennyit. Egyre nehezebb őt cipelni, kivenni és betenni az ágyba, lépcsőn fel-le sétálni vele, talán örökre pelenkázni kell, és itt van velem egy örök kisbaba. Miközben idősödni fogok, egyre nagyobb fizikai súlyt kell majd cipelnem. Az elmúlt években kaptam mindenféle “biztató” szót, a leggyakoribb az, hogy “legalább megtanult járni”. Ezt a mondatot évek óta hallgatom, mert nem történt azóta semmi ehhez hasonló nagy dolog. Najó, énekel és dalolászik. 2 éve végtelenül boldog voltam, hogy Mia 2 évesen megtanult járni, de talán érthető, hogy azóta kisebb lelkesedéssel fogadom ezt a dicséretet. Ahogy Jakupcsek Gabriella is megmondta nekem: én nem a gyermekem gyógyulásáért küzdök, ugyanis ez egy reménytelen és bizonytalan betegség, ami nem szokott javulni. A máért küzdök. Napról napra élünk, és próbáljuk szebbé tenni a pillanatokat. Ez nem egy szokványos szülinapi poszt. Tudom, mindenféle jót és pozitívat kéne írnom. Kétség kívül, Mia egy csodálatos teremtés. Szavakkal nem lehet kifejezni a szeretetemet iránta. De ritkán posztolok ide, és ez a szentimentális nap ezeket az érzéseket hozta ki belőlem az elmúlt napokban. Ez a mostani élethelyzetünk. Ez a valóság. Nagyon szeretünk, Mia 🩷 sok ilyen szép szülinapot kívánok neked még🙏🏼 (mert egyébként csodás helyen töltjük, és nagyon jól érezzük magunkat).

What it takes to become a Board-Certified Art Therapist/the last (frantic, frazzled) weekend of studying before the big test. Tiny Backstory Time: I graduated with my Masters Degree in Art Therapy nearly 15 whole years ago, newly, and unexpectedly, pregnant, 24 years old, and pretty unsure how my professional life would unfold. I have worked in the field in various capacities since 2010, after the birth of my first child, often with little support (many facilities seem to actively discourage young parents, and balancing this heavy clinical load with breastfeeding and raising a baby is arduous). My little family grew, we moved across coasts, moved houses several times, experienced hardship, built small businesses, made many career pivots, started homeschooling, survived a pandemic, landed in a dream job (for me, with my current private practice position)…..and now, I find myself *finally* ready for this final step as a practicing art therapist. I share this to encourage anyone else navigating this field or navigating the terrible, tumultuous dance of juggling career ambition with parenthood: you CAN do it, even if it takes a long time. I know it is hard to walk a long road, especially if the end is hazy or ill-defined (or completed mysterious!). You are not alone, and your efforts MATTER. #arttherapist #workingparents

Zaten ze, om 8 uur met z’n tweetjes in de stromende regen…. Zo sneu! Maar hij was zo trots op zijn bibberspiraal die hij zelf gemaakt had met Robin (gisteravond kwam op de valreep de zoemer met connector nog binnen). Naast hun mijn lieve vriendin met haar dochter. Ze hoopten dat het droog zou worden… en dat werd het! Ik reed met Ollie en Vie om 10 uur die kant op en we hebben een paar uurtjes met z’n allen gestaan. Robin, oma, de kindjes en ik. En mijn vriendin en haar dochter natuurlijk! Het was gezellig en we prijsden enthousiast hun zelfgemaakte koeken aan en ons bibberspiraal en natuurlijk de andere koopwaar. Fabi werd beloond! €16,50 met de spiraal (€0,50 per keer) en €46 aan verkochte spullen! ‘s Middags nog lekker film gekeken en nog even spelletjes gedaan vlakbij huis bij de voetbal. Een heeeeeel geslaagde Koningsdag🇳🇱🧡
Well we decided this might never happen again in our lifetime so we ventured down to Detroit yesterday for the NFL draft🏈💙🦁 Parked real far and hopped on the Qline, felt like I was gonna have a panic attack bc there were so many people that I got over heated so we hopped off before we needed to, walked all the way from Hopcat area to Hart Plaza, saw a couple things but too packed to stand in those lines, then walked to Campus Martius to see the actual draft stage, then decided to walk ALL THE WAY back to pick up the Q line to get back to our car!!! Then dinner by home!!! I get to choose. Reminded of lessons my good friend @laurieshoplandcoaching taught me. I. GET. TO. CHOOSE. How I show up in times where I feel pressed on every side, in times of overwhelm with my children, despair, frustration, disappointment, hurt. I get to decide how I show up. In no way am I advocating for slapping a fake smile on and pretending everything is A-Ok. Everything is not A-Ok. This past month has for sure been the most difficult time in my life, and I have been tried in more ways than I care to tell. But the reminder fell on me this morning as I was telling Justin how grumpy I was, and struggling with my kids declaring today sucks that it is my beautiful brain that decides whether today sucks or not. And while today may have it's challenges I am telling my brain, and you all, that I have decided today is going to be a good day. I will be productive, I will have lots of laughs, I will find beauty and I will grow. Mein letzter Post war am 10.09.22 als ich gerade in der 18. SSW schwanger war. Die weitere Schwangerschaft verlief problemlos 🙏 Je näher der ET rückte desto nervöser und teilweise auch ängstlicher wurde ich. Mein Mann und ich schauten uns noch diverse Geburtsvorbereitungsvideos an, damit wir gut vorbereitet waren. Es war ja zwar die 3. Geburt, aber trotzdem hielt ich es irgendwie für notwendig mir ein paar gute Leitsätze zurechtzulegen. Und so ging es dann am 08.02.23 abends um 21.30 Uhr mit einem Blasensprung los. Die Wehen begannen um ca. 3 Uhr. Die Geburt verlief einfach nur perfekt und war die schönste der drei Geburten 🥰 Unser kleiner Sohn kam am 09.02.23 um 4.02 Uhr auf die Welt ❤️ Ja, seitdem sind wir zu fünft und wursteln uns so durch 🤪 Mittlerweile ist der Kleine schon fast 15 Monate alt. Unglaublich, wie die Zeit rast. SATURDAY CHECK IN: I’ve been holding back, feeling a bit scared and vulnerable about these photos…but here they are!!! Some before and afters…. The first photo of me was when I was cleared to start my workout routine again after baby #3, the middle photo was before happy juice when I hit my peak, and the third is me now (3 months drinking happy juice) 😁 I’m so very thankful for my body, thankful for what it has been through including IVF, 4 major surgeries and the 3 little humans it grew and fed. I never bounced back to my pre pregnancy weight. I’ve had to work very hard with exercise and diet. But I was stuck, I hit a peak and nothing would budge. I was exhausted everyday by early afternoon, having multiple cups of coffee or energy drinks to try and help (they actually made me feel worse). I wasn’t sleeping well because of it. I was always bloated even first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I had soooo many food intolerances. I was battling with horrible hormonal acne and overall just felt bla. We were going on a trip to Mexico and I thought why not try this happy juice, I have nothing to lose. I was sceptical for sure, but after the first week I started noticing changes. My skin was clearing, my bloat gone, I had energy without jitters or a crash, I didn’t “need” coffee, I started sleeping better, I was overall happier, I started to enjoy foods I haven’t been able to eat in years and I started losing the stubborn weight… Now that I’m 3 months in, I can honestly say the longer you stick with it the stronger and better the results get. Jeder kennt sie - Diese Herzensangelegenheiten Die ganze Schwangerschaft über hatte ich mit Schwangerschaftsdiabetes zu tun. Bereits in der 7. Ssw bekam ich dieses Mal die Diagnose. Bei den Zwillingen bekam ich die Diagnose um die 24. Ssw. Beide male war die Beratung beim Diabetologen katastrophal. Eine anständige Aufklärung wie der Körper welche Kohlenhydrate verarbeitet gab es nicht. Lediglich wann ich wieviel Kohlenhydrate essen darf. Das bringt einen aber auch nicht wirklich weiter. 🤦🏼♀️ Da ich mittlerweile ganz ganz oft mitbekommen.habe, dass die Beratungen oft so miserabel sind habe ich den Weg der Ernährungsberatung eingeschlagen. Die Idee dahinter: Den Frauen, die in der gleichen Situation stecken und von den Diabetologen beratungstechnisch hängen gelassen werden, durch Aufklärung helfen! Könnte ich damit einen Arzt ersetzen? NEIN! Das Problem: Bisher kann mir keiner sagen ob ich, als Quereinsteiger, Frauen mit Schwangerschaftsdiabetes beraten darf 🤷🏼♀️ Den Fernlehrgang habe ich bereits angefangen 💪🏻 Und selbst wenn ich die Frauen nicht im klassischen Sinne beraten darf werde ich andere Wege finde um Frauen in dieser Situation zu helfen 👌🏻 Wäre die Ausbildung zur Ernährungsberaterin dann für die Katz? KEINESFALLS! Denn dann gibt es noch genügend spezialisierungsmöglichkeiten. Eine davon ist die Säuglings-, Kinder- und Jugendernährung.
