Cuando CASI me pierdo una experiencia valiosísima por miedo a hablar inglés 🙊 Un día, a mis 20 años, viendo Facebook, me encontré con el perfil de una organización que necesitaba voluntarios para ayudar como traductores inglés-español en brigadas. Me dio muchísima curiosidad porque la obra me parecía muy importante: durante las brigadas, llegaban extranjeros, en su mayoría estadounidenses, a cooperar en la construcción de escuelas en áreas rurales de mi país. Ellos necesitaban voluntarios que les ayudaran a comunicarse con los habitantes de los pueblos, y con la construcción también. La idea de participar me emocionó muchísimo, pero el miedo saltó. Esa iba a ser la primera vez que me comunicaría en inglés espontáneamente, fuera de un salón de clases. Tuve esa batalla interna: "A saber si voy a poder hacerlo, mi inglés no es tan bueno" "son nativos, seguro no me van a entender nada" "Tranquila, vos podés" Tenía mi lado optimista y pesimista. ¿Y adivina que lado ganó?😉 Fue una experiencia inmejorable, que repetí varias veces. Hice amigos y amigas nuevos, aprendí a comunicarme de forma más espontánea, mejoré mi vocabulario, salí en la televisión como traductora de un evento de inauguración, conocí lugares preciosos de mi país, pero también una realidad educativa muy diferente a la que yo viví de niña.
